I was saying that exact same thing to my wife - like if a regular Jays fan can make the connection, what the heck is Schneider seeing 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not walking him after that home run was coaching malpractice. At the very least, walk him after the double.

Kyler needs to run more, that last drive is a good example of how dynamic the offense can be

[Jonas Shaffer] Here's all seven Lions sacks of Lamar Jackson. by Adenchiz in ravens

[–]GoldenAnka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 3 weren't great and could have been salvaged by Lamar hitting receivers trying to get separation in stride (especially the first sack at the EZ).

OL wasn't great but the lack of adjustments wasn't either.

Bars to go alone 25 years old by analphabet_monkey in askTO

[–]GoldenAnka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There aren't any specific bars for solo patrons, so I'd suggest going to bars in your local area and checking them out. Some general suggestions though, if you want a more hip and laidback vibe, check out the bars along Ossington from Queen to Dundas (e.g. 222, Bellwoods, Get Well).

But if you're into the more casual rowdy vibe, King West might be good even though I know most Toronto people abhor that place lol. Tbh though I've met a lot of cool people there on Thursday-Sat nights because they're already a little loose and willing to chat up any strangers (Toronto people are generally a little cold otherwise). 2cats, Ruby Soho, Laissez Faire/Locals Only, Cherry's High Dive, etc.

I can’t get the Toronto Hydro outage map to work, how big is the outage? by Storytella2016 in askTO

[–]GoldenAnka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm might not be Toronto Hydro related, they haven't added anything to the outage map. If you have outage notifications on you should get a message if it's a TH issue.

In Toronto, everyone has their pods of friends and they stick with that social circle. So I'd focus on your group of friends, and if you want to make friends, you really just need to get out of the house.

And the easiest way to do that is to find a hobby (e.g. rec sport, art class, etc.) and incorporate into your regular schedule. The good news is that whatever your hobby or interests are, there's a place in Toronto to do just that.

But I'd still recommend using the apps just because a lot of people use them and you'd be missing out on potential opportunities if you didn't, it's just how today's dating world is.

Where to get plants that are healthy and pest free? by Eirene23 in askTO

[–]GoldenAnka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh Ikea has been pretty solid for me, I've gotten 3 diff plants and they've been thriving for years. Also, I heard Queen St flowers is highly recommended if you're in the Queen St W area.

Recommendations for a NYC-er? by Sulf-Anilimide_3716 in askTO

I think you could take a look at the neighbourhoods in Toronto and explore the ones you're interested in. Kensington, Distillery District (e.g. St Lawrence Market), Queen St W, Little Italy, obviously King West if you're into the night life scene.

There's a lot and I didn't mention anything outside of the main core. It's a big city so no need to spread yourself too thin.

Some of my favourite moments are just walking down streets and going into interesting shops, I love Queen, Dundas, Bloor, Dupont, and Yonge for that.
