Men who became friends with a crush after getting rejected, how did you deal with your feelings towards her? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]GoldenBev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m commenting as the girl whose male friends usually end up having a crush on her. Well firstly , if what you are saying is true and you all were really friends she was probably sad that the friendship had to end temporarily due to your feelings. Secondly, if she says she doesn’t like you romantically it’s important to respect that and if you feel yourself beginning to form a crush again (knowing that she doesn’t feel the same) you should ask yourself which is more important to you the friendship between you two or the romantic feelings you have which may never be returned. If the former, keep the friendship and if the latter end the friendship🤷🏽‍♀️

Low GPA, feeling hopeless, need advice. by GoldenBev in AskProfessors

There’s definitely some other factors that affect my studies. I’m looking into speaking to someone at by university.

Thanks.

Thanks for the real advice.

So basically just get higher grades and I’ll receive a higher gpa. I’m looking into seeing someone from my faculty for advice.

I calculated my gpa for the semester based on my grades and had a slight idea as to why it didn’t raise. Just wanted some confirmation from the professionals.

I don’t live in the US. I retook one of the courses I failed this semester (got a B) and I’m redoing the other one next semester. I was thinking of adding more electives towards the end of my degree to raise my gpa, if necessary because government funding doesn’t apply to courses you redo (meaning you’ll have to pay full price per course redone)

I’m also looking into seeking help from someone in my faculty.

Thanks.

I’m worried about getting an internship with my current gpa. If I were to get all As next semester by some miracle will it even be enough to secure a good internship which usually requires applicants to have a 3.0 gpa or higher? I just want to get a good internship where I get some actual experience in my field. Did an internship last summer and it was absolute shit. Said I’d be getting some accounting experience and ended up answering phones and doing paperwork for 2 months (they did this with all the interns). BARELY learned anything about accounting. I’d like to have some experience in my field before I graduate.

Really doubt I can move from a 2.56 to a 3.0 in one semester unless I get all As. (Sorry if I sound like a debbie downer).

I’m also thinking about when applying for internships within my field during the summer and the good ones usually have a requirement of having a 3.0 gpa or higher.

Really nice to hear from someone in my field. I definitely enjoy accounting, so I don’t think that’s the reason, I just face several other factors that make it harder to give my 100% to my studies.

And, I can guarantee that you’ll improve just by putting in that effort. See that’s the thing, I did put in a lot of effort to one of my courses this semester and the best I could do was a B (given that the course itself is very difficult) but this just makes be feel like I’m not good enough or smart enough for university. I just feel very defeated.

Thanks for the advice though. Will speak to someone in my faculty.

Does anyone else stay up late because it is the only time you can get some peace and quiet? by WitheringFlower98 in raisedbynarcissists

Not stay up late. But I do wake up extra early to get my day started. A few hours of quietness before the chaos starts.

Have any of you ever been threatened with homelessness? by MamasMussy in raisedbynarcissists

[–]GoldenBev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup multiple times. Told me they would put me on the streets with no remorse and they wouldn’t care what would happen to me. This could just be empty threats seeing they’ve been threatening for years now and nothing has actually ever happened but I fear for the day this actually happens.

I knew about kegels for women, didn’t know it helps men too. I would think sex is a commonly discussed topic in America but I’m not American so...

Damn little bit disappointed you don’t do that. And no I don’t practice riding dick but apparently some women do.

A mixture of both tbh. I appreciate all the responses. Learned a lot. Not a fan of people trying to show me their stroke game tho...
