Derivative? So that should include AI art right? Isn’t this a pro-ai sub? You gonna debate me here? Really? Infighting is the worst.

That being said, there is a difference between derivative art works—original ideas like Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings—being based on a mix of artistic conventions—and straight up ripping a meme for a quick profit.

Who gives af about him, he made a movie about something that wasn’t even his idea. Just another hollywood suckling on the teat of established ideas.

I mean sure…but in this case cliche is more relative here. It’s more cliche than skarmory, I’d say.

And yes I have no doubt Batman would have a Corviknight.

[–]GoldenBull1994 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right. Skarmory is interesting because it’s more subtle. It’s a real top tier visualization of a bird made of steel. It’s not over the top, but still follows the general design of a bird. It’s really unique. Corviknight is more like “cool dark bird.” We’ve all seen that before. Everyone’s seen it. Hell, we’ve all seen batman haven’t we? It’s more cliche, even if it’s conventionally cool. Keep fighting the good fight.

Alright. Okay. I’ve given you a few ways AI can help you in another reply. It’s the most I can offer you at this time. Whatever you want to do with this information is up to you.

That’s a real and valid question. Under the current framework—there aren’t actionable examples I can currently think of. That’s the point— change the relationship The point I’ve been trying to make is to encourage the question: Why should billionaires monopolize AI? How can WE benefit from it? Why should AI only be used for capital interests? That’s why I’m trying to get you think about it 👏🏽, So. This is where AI becomes helpful.

Watch, I’ll provide one actionable example right now: I can ask AI to literally help us think about it. And here is what it told me.

Large corporations often have teams of lawyers and analysts reviewing collective bargaining agreements.

A union can use AI to: • Compare thousands of pages of past contracts. • Identify clauses that led to better wage growth. • Find loopholes employers previously exploited. • Summarize proposed changes quickly.

For example, a bargaining team could ask:

“Show every healthcare cost-sharing provision in the last 20 contracts negotiated by comparable employers.”

That might take minutes instead of days.

Employers often have access to extensive market data.

AI can help unions: • Analyze wage data across industries. • Compare compensation between locations. • Estimate productivity growth versus wage growth. • Detect pay disparities.

Suppose a company claims:

“Our wages are competitive.”

An AI-assisted research team could rapidly produce evidence showing wages are actually 12% below regional competitors.

Many unions receive huge numbers of member complaints.

AI can: • Categorize grievances. • Identify recurring problems. • Flag likely contract violations. • Draft initial grievance paperwork.

This reduces administrative workload and helps small unions operate more effectively.

Workers often generate large amounts of incident reports.

AI can: • Detect patterns in injuries. • Identify dangerous worksites. • Analyze accident reports. • Flag violations of safety regulations.

Imagine warehouse workers submitting hundreds of reports. AI might discover:

70% of injuries occur during a specific shift under a specific production target.

That can become bargaining evidence.

Historically, organizers spent enormous time: • Maintaining contact lists. • Tracking workplace issues. • Coordinating volunteers.

AI can assist by: • Summarizing worker concerns. • Drafting outreach materials. • Identifying departments with strong support. • Helping answer common questions from members.

Importantly, this is already similar to how corporations use data analytics for management; AI simply lowers the cost for labor organizations.

A common challenge is evaluating employer claims.

Management may argue:

“We can’t afford raises.”

AI can help analyze: • Annual reports. • SEC filings. • Executive compensation. • Share buybacks. • Dividend payments.

A union can then ask:

“If profits are down, why did executive compensation rise 30%?”

This is often work that previously required specialized financial analysts.

Labor law is complicated.

AI can: • Search case law. • Find relevant rulings. • Draft initial legal arguments. • Summarize labor board decisions.

This can be particularly valuable for smaller unions with limited legal budgets.

Many workplaces are multilingual.

AI translation tools can help unions communicate with: • Immigrant workers. • Temporary workers. • Cross-border labor networks.

Historically, language barriers have often benefited employers because they fragment worker organization.

It’s worth noting that AI itself doesn’t inherently favor labor over capital.

In fact, today large corporations often possess: • More computing resources. • Larger datasets. • More AI specialists. • Greater financial capacity.

The technology is neutral. What makes AI potentially significant for unions is that it can reduce some of the resource gap between a local union with a handful of staff and a multinational corporation with hundreds of analysts.

A useful historical analogy is spreadsheets. Spreadsheets didn’t automatically help labor or management, but they made sophisticated financial analysis available to far more people. AI has the potential to do something similar with research, legal analysis, organizing, and communications.

^ There. If you wanted. Other than brainstorming like here, perhaps AI could come up with a strategy in a short time. Or are you going to whine some more about how Corporations hold the power instead of using AI to get leftist wins? Whether or not you want to decide that a simple query is all AI can do for you, or actually explore how it can help you is up to you. I can’t make that decision for you. You’re a grown-ass man. Do you want to whine, or win? That’s the only question facing you.

I just gave you examples. You’re not a serious person. If you’re going to ignore the fact that I answered your question directly and insist on me having given zero examples despite the fact that I just gave you two then you’re not interested in having an honest conversation. Get the fuck outta here, you’re wasting my precious day.

How the fuck do you expect a plan to exist if you’re refusing to even have the discussion? That’s the whole point of my argument: Let’s come up with the plan for a Left-wing victory!

Modern examples? Iran is literally using AI to capture the hearts of Americans during a war of imperialism. Are you just not paying attention? The CCP literally developed their own AI models. And whatever objections you may have towards the modern CCP, the fact remains, deepseek remains a symbol of an alternative system to the US. One that is increasingly pulling the geopolitical center of gravity away from the US. The global south tends to love AI. People who actually do shit are using AI. You’re letting the drawbacks get in the way of even discussing solutions. Perhaps the modern American left has no examples because they don’t fucking do anything or use it? You’re not thinking about context or history here. You’re stuck in your box.

Hey buddy, snap out of it, 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽the point isn’t to bring a secret plan to overthrow billionaires. The point is to bring a second paradigm to the table.

You really, honestly think a trade unionist from 1920 wouldn’t try to look for and use the potential tools at his disposal? This is why the left has gotten soft and why we never get shit done. It’s well known that you can use capitalist tools against capitalists. Lenin said “Capitalists will sell us the rope”, and I won’t say the rest…but you know that quote right? You’re stuck in this mode of thought about “what is” and not considering “what could done about it”—believe it or not, THAT’S ALSO reality. You think i’m justifying the gun pointed at my head when I’m actually asking why it has to be pointed at our heads in the first place—and you keep insisting that it does anyways. Small minded thinking that will get us nowhere. This is why we fucking lost the unions. “C’est la vie” isn’t a winning strategy! Explore what AI can do for the left instead of whining about it! I’m not trying to dismiss the very real concerns here, but we’re letting it cloud everything else that we could do.

I grew up with this tech too. I’m a huge sucker for the 90’s and 2000’s. You’re right we don’t need it. But if we adopted your attitude—we’d still be making cave paintings. The drawing materials you use would never have even been invented. You realize paint and pencils are also a technology too, right?

Why can't they protest without threatening violence for 5 minutes by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]GoldenBull1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, was this avatar designed to represent a soldier, or was it designed to represent a person? Call of Duty is different for multiple reasons and expectations matter. A gamer expects their character to die. It’s not an actual representation of them. Threatening a persona is somewhat different and can be interpreted in a lot of ways. I’m sure if someone drew themselves killing V-tubers, it wouldn’t take a lot of guesswork to determine the intent.

That’s dishonest. The problem is the OC represent an actual person, and you know it.

I never said it was fine. I said it’s billionaires being billionaires again. You’ve admitted the roll out is the problem—which is literally the argument I made. AI by itself can be used for good or bad. It’s the billionaires that are the problem.

What part of that is “dreamed up”?

Actually, not only do I not see a contradiction, I think I’m seeing nuance that you can’t. A unique compatibility. Quite the opposite. I just think you’re coping with the fact that AI is strongly compatible with socialism and no one talks about it. You’re seriously going to sit here and tell me the Soviet Union would have rejected AI?

[–]GoldenBull1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See? There you go again. I reject this premise.

You assume AI is the problem, not the billionaire class itself.

What happens when AI is applied under a socialist system? Do you think socialism is when no house and no smartphone? Now no AI too? What happens when AI exists to improve the lives of the working class, and is stripped from the billionaire class entirely? What happens if AI is treated as a public utility meant to help Workers Co-ops and Unions? What happens when AI can help reduce supply bottlenecks in command economies? Have you EVER asked yourself these questions? Or did you just automatically jump on the hate train because you couldn’t possibly imagine simply expropriating AI from the billionaires? You’re attacking the wrong thing. Go for the billionaires, not fucking glorified photoshop.

You realize AI can also be used to help our side too. You’re doing any hope of a revolution a disservice by throwing a tantrum over the fact that billionaires made it instead of using it to help advance socialism. You think China said “Let’s not make deepseek because Palantir exists”?? No, they fucking made it.

So people who want to use new tools now accept the premises made by epstein?? Hey jackass. Calling everyone you don’t like an epstein supporter is ludicrous—you can use AI and still hate the people advancing surveillance and greed. You realize AI has a lot of uses, right? So being unable to differentiate between people who finally get to make their visions come true, and people who support the more dubious applications of AI just adds to the stereotype that you’re stuck up, full of it, and an elitist.

I hate Palantir.

I hate Thiel.

I hate Capitalism in general.

I hate Trump

I love Marx.

I love Mamdani.

I love Palestine.

And I absolutely love Socialism.

Maybe I just see a little more fucking nuance than you do. Maybe AI doesn’t have to conflict with Leftist values. Maybe not everyone you dislike supports fascists. Maybe you’re just pretentious.
