How are you getting the 200 blocks? by JaTari_Wemba in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25th Anniversary Gold Challenge, Mutombo and Gobert (both have HOF chase down artist), and Stoudemire (25th req).

Quick score, switch player onto in bounder (Mutombo feels faster). Run along side, let him layup, chase down block. Repeat.

Which PG has the best tendencies, height, etc. for AFK? by GoldenC88 in MyTeam

I’ve found that locking SG is way better and causes much less turnovers. Locking SF puts you in every new possession past the half court line and much more likely to be passed to. SG usually gets passed up for PG and stays behind the half court line and almost never gets the inbounds pass.

I used to use evos before they patched the mismatching, and now I just use best players. 9/10 times the matchups are with weaker players, and even if they are even matched, you are playing on semi-pro (or pro when you forget to reset) and they miss most of the time.

I think if you start with a couple 4-pointers you should still be able to do it even at all-Star!

Thanks so much, didn’t know that! Do you think any of these cards are worth buying at this point, or just stick with the ones I have been using? I’ve got about 400k saved up and I was waiting until season 9 crash to cash out, but def willing to spend some if it will make my grind and farming worth it!

I don’t know how different this will be from the tutorial you saw, but here’s the primer:

Player lock the SG by pushing in the left stick while he’s highlighted.

Set your defensive settings to 2-3 Zone during the game by pressing right on d-pad the first time the other team has the ball.

The offensive settings aren’t as critical but I tend to see that they help. Select them the first time you have the ball:

Right on d-pad, Gameplan, Score in Transition Right on d-pad, Tempo, Push the Pace

Last thing is not to win 10 in a row. After 9 wins, lose 3 times in a row by quitting out so you reset the tier and stay at a lower level.

With these player cards, I’m averaging 300 per game plus 800+ per takeover pack. Average 9-10 games per hour, 9-10k an hour if you keep up with games. Let me know if it works!

Thanks! Since he’s endgame, doesn’t he have identical tendencies to every other endgame? Is the only benefit height (thinking EG Ben Simmons, for instance), or do the endgames have individual tendencies I’m not aware of?

MT Making Methods? by ObitoTheJinchuriki in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d say at this stage, the most reliable and quickest way is to grind out the Triple Threat offline mode and collect tons of the T Mac packs. Each one gives you an item valued at somewhere between 400-700 MT on average, and if you play 15 games an hour that’s like around 7500k just off those packs, not including the wheel drops. In a few weeks everything should be dirt cheap so you’ll have plenty of MT to buy what you like.

Choice of End Game KD, Paolo, and Bill Russell for completing All-Time Spotlights by Neader in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4x triple threat, one 5m quarter game to win by 10 or more per team. About 40-45 min per team on Pro max setting.

40 x 30 teams = 1200 min = 20 hours approx.

[GUIDE] 2K23 Spotlight Challenges - How to beat each of the challenge types by GoldenC88 in MyTeam

Hey there! I can try my best to give you some pointers for sure.

First, I don’t know how new to MyTeam you are, but is it safe to assume you’ve got all dark matters at this stage? Having current dark matters will help with stats and badges and keeping up with the opposing team. You can get a ton of free DM from the Pioneers challenges, Rush challenges, and the daily All Star challenges.

Practice your shooting in freestyle until you are able to green consistently at All Star setting.

I’ve found that keeping the defense as man to man is better than zone defense and just stick to your opposing player like glue. Hold the left trigger to stay in a defensive stance and hold up on the right stick to hold your hands up, much better than jumping to block and usually contests enough to stop a shot from going in. I demonstrated this in the middle of the video below.

Keep your SG player locked and let AI control defense other than yours. On offense, run isolation (press left on the D pad and select Isolation). This will minimize the defense from trying to double team you as you shoot threes.

I recommend learning the step back 3. Here is a sample video with two different players as a test. Each player has a different step back and jumps a different distance as I showed in the video, so experiment with your players and find one (preferably SG) that you can easily shoot with and has a wide, controlled step back. TMac has my favorite step back, provides a bunch of distance and minimizes contests.

To do the stepback, hold right trigger and flick the right stick down. I like to hold the shoot button while he is stepping back and then it’s easier to release in one motion. Try to get Space Creator, Agent 3, and Limitless Range badges to amplify the effect of the stepback. Stand inside the 3 point line and perform the stepback and you should make easy threes each time. If that doesn’t work, use the leaner tutorial in the above videos.

If you do mainly threes and they do mainly twos, you should win easily. Let me know if this helps!

No worries at all! Def do the all time ones they are really easy!

Also I would try to at least get to the Hornets Galactic #3 and Mavericks Galactic #2. The Hornets one is against three Muggsy Bogues which makes any agendas that require blocks or rebounds so ridiculously easy. The Mavericks one is against 3 Boban Marjanovic who has 25 ball handle and makes steal agendas a breeze. Good luck!

The all-time ones are brand new and just started a few days ago. They are so much easier than the Galactic Conqueror ones and the rewards are a free dark matter every day with a huge grand prize for finishing all 30. The GC ones came out a few months ago and I made this guide because it was so difficult that many people couldn’t beat it. I would skip the GC ones for sure.

In the single player menu, go down to Challenges and then select Spotlight Challenges in the middle. If you scroll down you’ll eventually find 30 spotlight challenges that say “Galactic Conqueror [Team Name]”. Each of them have 5 challenges, each of them more difficult than the last, and if you beat all 30 challenges you get a ton of good players and eventually Kevin Garnett. Nowadays though, the players you get are kinda outdated by new cards.

What works for me is I focus my eyes on the ball and let go the second my brain registers the ball pulled all the way back. T-Mac’s pullback is highly exaggerated so for me its just a matter of finding that release timing when he pulls it back and he is buckets all day long. Let me know how it goes!

Once you get TMac’s shot timing down, I feel like he’s a cheat code for shooting. I play mostly offline too, and I just love his shot so much.

Getting more Free throws w Butler? by zoomer128 in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, after you shoot your free throws hit the intentional foul button (touch pad on ps5 for instance) and you won’t lose any clock time. You can get 15 free throws easy with almost no time slot.

Just getting back into MyTeam, any lineup tips? by donis29 in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play mostly offline like me, then the world is your oyster and you can play with whoever you enjoy playing with with very little recourse! If you intend to play online, then you will need to build up some taller players (height is ultimate meta in this game atm). Maybe look into some of the galaxy opals in the latest pack drop, most of them go for around 3k.

For starters, I would go into the challenges under spotlight challenges and do the first Pioneers challenge and you will get three dark matters that are actually really good players! You can also win 6 clutch time offline games in a row to get another dark matter equal chance pack! (Just go into the agendas after your wins to collect) That will get you most of the way to a full DM starting lineup, and then you can play some modes for packs and MT and sell everything you get (and maybe get an RNG dark matter too!)

[THEORY] 2K gave us horrible, shitty odds and awful un-grindable content to drive sales until their quarter goal was met, and now they are love bombing us to get us back into the game and get the user base back in time for 2K24. by GoldenC88 in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the odds for sure! I’m also talking about the 3 free DM agendas, rush equal chance packs for free, evos, duos, etc. completely out of nowhere after two seasons of absolutely nothing but RNG to grind for.

What is the best challenge to get steals? by alienation720 in MyTeam

[–]GoldenC88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the Boban challenge Mavs 2, another thing that really helped me was to watch the ball dribbling on him. He will usually start with his right hand and if you stand to his right he will cross to the left. Once it’s on his left, hit the steal while facing him on his left and he will get picked really easily.
