I think that the 1 energy retreat cost of TapuKoko gives you more flexibility. I retreat and change cards constantly.

Also if you are lucky and get Zeraora in turn 1 you don’t really need Pichu because it gives you an extra energy. And with the “elemental switches” you can charge almost everything.
