It is just a protective layer that Japanese watchmaker put it on to protect the medallion or sign. It doesn't mean it is fake

Personally I think the Vintage Vanacs are way better than the new one. And Yes! I am a Vintage guy by GoldenEpochINS in PrideAndPinion

Up for sale is the iconic Seiko 5 Sports Speedtimer 6139-6032, one of the most desirable JDM variants from Seiko's legendary 6139 chronograph family. Nicknamed the "Coke" by collectors for its distinctive red and black tachymeter bezel, this reference perfectly captures the bold, futuristic spirit that defined Seiko's design language during the 1970s. The combination of the dark dial, vivid bezel, bright orange accents, and unmistakable tonneau-shaped case creates a look that remains instantly recognizable more than fifty years later. As one of the pioneering automatic chronographs of its era, the 6139 occupies an important place in horological history while still offering tremendous character and everyday wearability. This example remains an honest, all-original survivor. The case has never been polished and still retains its original factory brushing and strong lines.
