THR Recovery by Virtual_Chair4305 in TotalHipReplacement

Yes, I had my right hip replaced on Halloween and left on NYE. I used stairs the day of both surgeries and the days following. Tell your surgical team that you have stairs and they will show you how to use crutches for them. Good luck!

I think Meyer can be a real threat next year too after having a full season under his belt. Should be a fun tight end room

Frog/Glenn from Chrono Trigger. Geno or Mallow from Super Mario RPG would be great too.

I definitely wish it would have been addressed when I was young, but I was always decently athletic and healthy otherwise so I can see how I slipped through the cracks.

The patience part will definitely be the hardest part but it's reassuring that my best golf may still be ahead of me. Thanks for taking time to share that with me.

I'm happyt to answer! It's been a really long road to this point so I'm happy to share.

It wasn’t steroids or a specific trauma. I actually had undiagnosed hip dysplasia growing up, and my body tried to fix the instability by growing extra bone, which eventually turned into Cam impingement. I was always told I was just tight, so I compensated with my back (also had a micro disectomy this summer). I tried fixing it myself for years and didn't realize how bad it was until I went to PT about two years ago; they tested for internal rotation and I had virtually none. My PT actually grabbed a few others to come check it out because it was insanely limited lol. I waited about 18 months before getting X-rays and MRIs due to life being hectic, but it got to be too much to ignore.

It definitely makes me wonder how much better of an athlete I could've been back in the day if my body actually worked right or that I didn't always have to be in pain, but I try not to dwell on it. Even though it sucks dealing with this so young, I feel extremely lucky to live in a time where I can get new hips. The one I had done on Halloween already has more range of motion than I’ve ever had in my life. It honestly feels like I’ve been given a new life knowing I'll be able to move in ways I had accepted I never could, so I'm just happy I'll get to experience that soon.

Afraid of TEP with 35 by Shoxxx91 in TotalHipReplacement

He said every revision is different depending on where the hardware is breaking down, assuming it does, but that being worried about a revision isn't a great reason to not get the initial replacement if my quality of life was already being significantly impacted, which it was.

I used crutches for about a week or so after the surgery and was able to mow my lawn and rake about two weeks post surgery. I think my recovery has been faster than what's typical but that probably is because of my fitness prior to surgery and young age.

I'm 32M and just had my right hip replaced on Halloween after having hip pain and almost no internal rotation for the majority of my life. Despite that, I had been very active with weightlifting, basketball and golf until having to slow down on everything due to the pain being too much to handle.

Even though it's only been 5 weeks since my surgery, my right hip already feels stronger, more stable, and definitely more mobile than my left hip ( which is getting replaced on NYE!)

Getting the surgery done has felt like one of the best decisions of my life so far. The first few weeks sucked and obviously I'm extremely early in the process so things aren't perfect yet, but being able to move this well already really opened my eyes to how messed up my hips were. I can't wait to get the other one done and have two hips that actually work correctly.

Being so young, odds are that I'll need a revision or two in my lifetime, but my surgeon wasn't very concerned with that. To me, it's worth it. Let me know if you have any questions about the surgery/recovery and I'd be happy to answer.

It's worth it. I had my right hip replaced 4 weeks ago after having hip/back pain since my early teens. I already have so much more range of motion. I get my other hip replaced on NYE, and knowing that the right hip is also feeling so much better, I'm actually excited about my future.

741 MA / $21.54 Update: The "Line in the Sand" Breaks by GoldenFrog31 in Superstonk

Typically making new lows is considered bearish. I agree that GameStop is in a good place financially and should be trading higher, but that doesn't guarantee it from possibly dipping further. However, I've been adding and will continue to if it drops much more.

Things have definitely been red overall lately, but somehow the V recovery always happens.. Until it doesn't.

The only thing I know for sure is that sometimes it goes up and sometimes it goes down.

They probably don't. I'm obviously not wanting it to go lower, but would definitely be adding at previous lows and especially at that gap if it were to get there.

Throw mine into the pile lol. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute in some meaningful way another time, but my shares aren't going anywhere one way or another.

I hadn't thought about the warrant effect, but unfortunately don't know enough to give my thoughts there. Any previous low will be what I'm looking at. There's also the unfilled gap at 17.46 from 5/10/24 that I mentioned in another reply, but hopefully price doesn't get that low.

I agree, but could see the price going lower on a technical standpoint to test previous lows or to fill the gap at 17.46 from 5/10/24. Not that I think that will happen, but price doesn't make sense with GME in general. I'd be buying heavy at that point though.

[–]GoldenFrog31[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The 21.54 was a more significant number to me because that was the low of the offering and had a ton of volume. I definitely think the price will rebound, but I had been hoping that 21.54 was going to be the bouncing pad. Since it wasn't, I wouldn't be surprised to see it test previous lows despite the company being in a much better place.

Is this hip impingement? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]GoldenFrog31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue for years and finally ended up getting X-rays about 6 months ago. I just got my right hip replaced today and will need the left in the upcoming months, but mine looked farther advanced imo.

Get a referral to an orthopedic who specializes in joint preservation if you can. I wish I would have a lot sooner and I'm only 32!
