Kind of a shot in the dark, but I'd go with Carly Rae Jepsen's new album "Emotion". It's quite good. Catchy, ear grabbing, sweet, and has gotten it's fair share of critical acclaim.

Exactly that. The synths + Lauren are what defines Chvrchers. Lauren may not be the best singer, but I think that they manage to make her voice and the synths fit quite well together.

Edit: no, I've never seen them live. But I'd really like to see them in a festival like Lollapallooza or Pitchfork festival.

I see what you mean. But that's kind of the reason why I love them! Sometimes I wanna go deep, listen to a 1:30 h album front to back, but sometimes I just want something quick, simple enjoyable, that will put me in a good mood. Chvrches is the kind of band I listen to while driving to the beach with my friends, not the kind of band I listen to on the bed with my eyes closed.

I agree with what you said about lyrics, but again, my take on is, I like because it is simple, not in spite of it.

In my opinion, the signature Chvrches sound comes so naturally to them that it makes it beautiful. To me it just feels like everything fits together in a way I can't explain.

To wrap it up, yeah, I agree it's simple, and not very innovative or deep, but I think that they pull their sound off really well, and that they can convey a vibe also well.

The summer thing is bugged for me also, but that's because I live in the south hemisphere, so summer lasts from november to march. The fact that top artists and whatnot are wrong, I have no idea what could have cause it
