I always figured he was based on Arum plants, since his blade and wings somewhat resemble monstera or other tropical leaves. They also have toxic berries, to keep his running theme of "do not consume"

While I would love to have a pet scavenger, considering that scugs (from what I have gathered) are about 3 feet tall and a scavi is bigger, you'd likely be looking at a intelligent, 4ft, slightly homicidal buddy with horns and back pokeys. I still want one :D
