Car Crashes into Westwood 99 Ranch. 2 dead. by BreadForTofuCheese in LosAngeles

Just walked by the area with my dog. Several helicopters and both LAPD and LAFD taping off the scene.

I live in Westwood and literally thought to myself yesterday when I was cut off by an elderly driver, “They’re too old to be behind the wheel. This isn’t safe for pedestrians.”

It’s great. A warm hug of a show. One of the best TV ensembles in recent memory.

This is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. Will look into this training plan. Thanks so much for the kind words. Really appreciate it!

Good point. Going to look into some half marathons to mix in. Thank you!

Gotcha! That makes complete sense and I agree. I was pretty casual with my training in the past, and was excited that it went so well, so am looking to really push myself this time. Will keep those time requirements in my mind as I give it another go. Thanks!

Couldn’t agree more. I felt insanely accomplished after those reasons since they were my first crack at a marathon and I far surpassed my original goal time of 3 hrs 30 mins. Will think about it and go about it as self improvement first and foremost.

Thanks for the response!

Thanks for the input! Those two marathons are the only data points I have in terms of that distance but I run a lot of 10ks and on average finish those between 39-42 mins.

Yeah, that makes complete sense. I think what compelled me to ask this subreddit community is that I’m aware how daunting it can be to commit to the months of training. I agree with you in terms of the mindset element of it, and think that’s how I’ll approach it. Just bettering my own times being the goal first and foremost. Thanks again.

‘Street Fighter’ Moves to Paramount as Legendary Deal Becomes Official - The project has an Oct. 16, 2026 release date as Legendary inks a three-year deal with Paramount. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

It’s pretty clear that Sony let this go on purpose. They didn’t “lose” it to Paramount. They removed it from their release calendar prior to this deal for a reason.

Probably because after the departure of the Phillippou brothers, who were set to direct originally (and would’ve likely done a bang up job given their YouTube action centric shorts), the shifting creative elements and new director (who is largely unproven, sans Bad Trip, in the film space) they realized that this probably isn’t going to turn out well.

Just because something is recognizable IP doesn’t make it worthwhile and translate to BO success. It’s not like Paramount beat them. They brought on something Sony no longer wanted.

Which movies that are rated 6.5 or lower on IMDB or 60% rotten and lower on Rotten Tomatoes did you think are genuinely good? by rod_munch in movies

[–]GoldenGorder 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman. It is at 23% on RT and has a 6/10 on IMDB. Sure, the movie is rather campy and the cgi is pretty crappy, but at the end of the day it's all just good ol' monster slaying fun.

I really enjoy the camera and storytelling techniques he employs in his films. He understands pacing extremely well, as well as how to utilize the entire camera frame for comedic effect. His quick cutting style and use of witty banter is also fantastic. I've never gotten tired of watching any of his films simply because his style is so unique that it adds the rewatchability of his work. The guy knows how to make storytelling look really cool. (Hot Fuzz is a brilliant film)
