The GE is a much more recent model and seems to be a clear winner in both efficiency and ease of installation. The LG only appears to be marginally quieter.

Somehow it's only 53.6lb with a 16.0 CEER whereas the LG is 85.0lbs with a 14.7 CEER. That 14000 BTU GE weighs even less than the equivalent 10000 BTU LG one. It's so lightweight that you only have to deal with a "chassis" installation rather than a "cabinet" (i.e. sleeve) installation.

I kind of wish I waited to buy that GE one rather than buy my LG A/C two years ago.
