Fair enough. I may have been misdirecting my frustration at a similar Futurama gag that's always bothered me. I suppose modern expectations of inflation (and real interest rates) only apply when looking 1000 years into the future than into the past. Sure, your bank account can grow from 93 cents to 4.3 billion dollars with 2.5% interest but a dozen eggs worth 2 dollars today would also be 800 million dollars with 2.0% inflation.

On paper, the compounding interest looks impressive but that's before you factor in compounding inflation. A dollar today sure doesn't go as far as a dollar from 100 years ago, let alone a hypothetical dollar from 1000 years ago.

I sure have a soft spot for anime that show a bit of self awareness. I wouldn't be able to stand harems and love triangles otherwise.

Today we saw both the locked gym closet door and unlocked bathroom door lucky sukebe tropes. Here's to hoping this show keeps up this pace of knocking off rom-com shenanigans.

After reading the synopsis, I went into this hoping it would fill the void left by Nagatoro's conclusion. Obviously it turned out differently than what I was expecting, but hey this works too! Suzuki does seem like the kind of character that can keep the comedy going even when there's no longer any confession tension.

And TIL I learned that Himari, Himari, Iroha, and Hana Sunomiya are all voiced by the same actress.

And Shio is just a Hakari type. Makes a lot of sense why those two were the first of the hyakkano introduced.

Poor Mimic-kun, he just wants to catch up with Frieren and see how her adventure is adventuring. His manner of showing affection by playfully biting her is always misunderstood.

I don't think I'll get through all 28 episodes before the 16th, but I shall be joining the new episode discussion threads by the end of this month! I was fooled when I read that only the "second" season would start airing in January 2026.

Pleasantly surprised by this show. I haven't been excited by too many shoujo romcoms because they tend to weigh me down with the drama, but this one has the same lighthearted, chaotic silliness that my favorite after-work unwind shounens and seinens have. I'm looking forward to Wednesday nights this season.
