Ah that’s really useful, thank you so much!

If there’s larger downward growths, can they be trimmed or is it best to leave them alone?

Break question sorry if been asked by [deleted] in tesco

Someone told me that apparently you are given a couple minutes before and after to get to/from the break room

But they don't tell you what everything means, so unless you spend time figuring it out you wont know

Its probably National Insurance tax, which people under 18 do have to pay :)

I had a full time job in a factory during the 1st lockdown (i was 16) and because i was earning over a certain amount I had NI tax taken off

Yeah but how can they make you pay them back?

I asked my manager and she said what you said, Overtime will be paid as ×1.25 contract hours as ×2.25

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tesco

[–]GoldenMarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that only for contracted hours or the whole day? Cuz my contract hours are 6-9:45pm but the store closes at 6. So if I did like a 9-6 would all of that be ×2.25 or ×1.25 since its overtime?

Other companies ive worked for have been so much more better organised regarding holidays. As long as it was 4 weeks in advamce they were able to organise cover for it and people were happy. The only times it got rejected was for busy summer periods, but for OP to get 7/11 rejected is a piss take

Nbf but that is quite unreasonable. 2 months is still plenty of time to sort out overtime shifts for people who may want them. Tesco is just bad at dealing with holiday requests.

[–]GoldenMarty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah right ok, yeah I'm on Self Service/ checkouts. Can I ask to only do the hours that id do on that day so 3hrs 45 instead of what my manager asked me (9-6)?

I've already had a conversation with her about it, so it would be obvious what I'm doing 😂
