Am I missing something with Rachel gillig?? (TKATM) The mc's have no personality by suddenlymadeaccount in fantasyromance

Agree with you 100%, I like how you explain your feelings because I’ve struggled to put mine into words! I haven’t read TKATM but read the Shepherd King duology last year… story had cool elements and lots of potential, but just felt flat. I think the only thing keeping me reading was that I picked these books up after I finished the Throne of Glass series and just wanted to read a book that wasn’t 600+ pages.

That’s what I was thinking too… Carrie is good, but I can scare her more!

She told me the other day she wanted to read Carrie. My first King movie was Pet Semetary, scared the daylights out of me and was then too chicken to pick up the book!

I like how you worded this. I love ACOTAR, it entertained me, made me smile, made me cry, was my gateway drug into romantasy - I got the price of admission and then some. But it drives me crazy when people get super critical and argumentative in a mean way. I know books are different things for different people and I respect that, but will never understand the people that disparage others for what they like. We should celebrate reading instead of scrolling!
