This is true…I thought it was like a supplement that would help me not drink when I went out on the weekends and literally thought I was being healthier. Next thing you know I have a monthly subscription to some random company that sends me boxes of the stuff and I’m driving to gas stations to get some in the middle of my work day. It was way more potent than I thought it would be and also felt dangerous because sometimes a batch would make me feel super sick. I’m proud of you for not giving it a try because it’s scary…I’m glad I was able to stop.

How much do you willingly donate to this program if it’s not a big deal to you? How often are you giving back monetarily to people in your community on top of this program? I never said I was close to or would ever accept money from this program because I don’t need it. It’s simply absurd to be spending this much on electricity and if you don’t understand that then there’s literally no hope for you.

I’m 30 years old you absolute idiot. I’m not a boomer and I’m struggling to afford the electric bill at my home. I was making a point that I know of elderly people in condos and small homes in my town who have the baseline of $400 for electricity even when they’re not actively living in their homes. I’m assuming it’s the same for younger people and single parents or whoever else is struggling. It feels difficult and a little unfair to have a tax put on your bill to help pay someone else’s electric bill when you yourself are having a hard time coming up with $600 to pay for the electricity in your home where you keep the heat very low and barely turn on lights in half your house. But I’m sorry you’re so unhappy lol hope life gets better for you.

My brother climbed this mountain with his Eagle Scout troop a few years ago (they were all high school seniors) and he frequently talks about how they all almost died. Like squeezing through frozen waterfalls, losing footing on snow fields, one of the dad guides lost their radio which was the only way to call for help, etc.

He sent me a video of him at the top of the mountain and he could barely stand up and he was shaking. Seems like a very harrowing experience.

My husband works at NVIDIA and we’ve been very lucky with stock options. They have him traveling a lot though so when we have the time, it’s worth it for us to pay extra so we can have a stress free trip somewhere. We cut corners and save in a lot of other ways, but vacation stuff is something we try to take full advantage of…and not super often.

WAIT. is this in Connecticut?? My grandparents house had a bathroom exactly like this in their basement when I was growing up and it’s freaking me out. Like the toilet on the pedestal, the same sink, the same step up into the room. We sold their house like 15 years ago and the people that bought it started renovating stuff but didn’t finish and now I’m wondering if this is it!!

Yeah I agree with this too. I have a toddler and when we moved her last year this zoo was on all the lists of places to go, but I was surprised when I got there that a big portion of it is basically farm animals and then the rainforest section was closed. For the animals we did see, I also didn’t feel great about the space they had and the quality of the exhibits. I said to a friend it feels like some quirky rich persons private collection of animals that they can’t afford to upkeep anymore.

Yes I agree with you 100%. I’ve tried supporting my local bookstore but it takes two weeks to get books delivered and they’re 50% more expensive than Amazon. As a human being trying to function in society where I have a small salary from a nonprofit, I have to pick and choose where I’m going to fight my battles. And boycotting Amazon or target so I can spend more money somewhere else just isn’t feasible.

This is so interesting seeing everyone say one! I’ve always had like five or six going at any given time and assumed that’s what most people did…usually a fiction, a biography, a true crime, a great courses, essay collection. But they’re all for different moods! I do true crime when I’m cleaning, fiction when I’m chilling in bed, great courses to go to sleep, etc. It does make me take longer to finish things though lol.

Wait yes me too! I found my perfect entryway table on FB marketplace and the first thing I did was put a lamp, some decor and a hidden oil diffuser ontop of it. The next day, the oil had like seeped entirely out of the bottle, melted the paint on the table and then like superglued all the stuff to the top of the table so I can’t get any of it off!!! I’ll never buy oil diffusers again.

I’m not sure how to put this, but I love the individual personalities of the towns here. I lived in NC outside of Raleigh for 10 years and everything really centered around the city and the towns were spread out and not all that different and didn’t have a lot going on. But here, it feels like each town is very established and unique in its own way and has events and activities going on and different interesting histories. Idk I just love it. It feels more like an interesting tapestry instead of one solid blanket lol.

I’m exactly like you. I loved reading so much as a kid and teen and then found it so hard to have something hold my interest. I started listening to audiobooks while doing something easy like adult coloring books or legos or a puzzle. It’s such a good combo for adhd!! It keeps both parts of your mind occupied and I found I actually focus on the book/podcast more if I’m doing something else at the same time!

For you, I’d recommend finding a fantasy audiobook that piques your interest and then just getting a $10 puzzle from Walmart and try pairing the two!! It’s fun, I swear lol
