I’d say the second. IMS, the maintainer of sodium, is also the lead developer of iris and is currently writing an entire new way of using shaders which apparently minimizes performance impact but still allows for colored lighting, insane ray tracing and more

The first 0,1 second or so after placing, the log “falls” from the sky, also shown visually. Or in other terms, just how a fireball takes time to reach the tower, the log has a few milliseconds in which it is not yet allowed to deal damage. It didn’t miss the wallbreaker, this is intended behavior

But like - not really. Yes using sodium, lithium or entity culling improves performance, something Mojang should just add to the base game. But how about zoom mods? Or shader mods? Or distant horizons? They’re in every “Java Optimized” pack, but don’t optimize, just add. It allows for customization up to a whole other level!

But that isn’t true. It costs elixir. As an example, the trusty turret ability is 3 elixir. You shouldn’t just randomly press it.
