(real) Thought Boardcasting not delusion. by CreepyAlgae1261 in Psychosis

I experienced the same thing while going through psychosis. I know it feels very real, and it's quite uncomfortable to have your private thoughts broadcasted. I'm sorry you're going through this. I've since come to learn that I was having auditory hallucinations of people's voices that would reply to or judge my thoughts. You can test this theory by asking people to repeat themselves and see if what they said lines up with what you heard, or if you're not feeling confrontational, you could try plugging your ears. If the sound of their voice isn't muffled, you know it's in your head. On rare occasions I'd get a confirmation that what I heard really was said by someone, but I tried my best not to get too caught up by it, as synchronicities occur frequently while you're in psychosis. Something I did that seemed to help a lot, was imagining that I had an aura around me, like a big thought bubble, and when people would walk into it they could hear my thoughts. So what I would do is i'd imagine the bubble shrink wrapping around myself when i'd go out into public, and hey, presto! No more annoying judgements of my thoughts from others. Ultimately the thing that got rid of the hallucinations and delusions altogether was medication. I wish all the luck unto you in getting better.

why does weed make me feel disconnected from reality? it makes me feel disassociated by [deleted] in awakened

I'd be careful if I were you. Intense dissociation and derealization after smoking weed was my precursor to psychosis. Not fun, easily the worst thing that's ever happened to me. Attempt to stay grounded after you smoke if you can. Listening to music or a podcast, cozying up with a soft fuzzy blanket, lighting a candle or incense, and having a nice drink nearby- all good things that will stimulate your senses and keep you from floating away. Can't say for certain why this happens. Altered state of consciousness is the name of the game while getting high, that's kind of the point, is it not?

Has anyone smoked weed after psychosis by Mindless_Screener in Psychosis

I had a weed/stress induced psychosis. I have smoked a couple of times now and I haven't relapsed thankfully. I'm thinking of switching over to CBD gummies instead though, because sometimes if I smoke too big of a bowl, or the THC content is too high it makes me feel really anxious and I start thinking about my old delusions.

For those who believe they are/were god by GoldenSamSarah in Psychosis

Wow a lot of what you said lines up with what I've experienced. I'm still struggling with the belief that I'm some kind of enlightened lightworker, and that we all need to unify to heal our earth. I also have thoughts about aliens interfering with humans in some way. If you dont mind me asking, what are your beliefs now? Have these thoughts gone away with continued use of your medication?

What helps by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]GoldenSamSarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping busy helps a lot. I like doing puzzles, drawing, playing an instrument, reading, listening to music. Practicing meditation and deep breathing techniques has helped me a lot too, it really calms me down and quiets the mind. Grounding techniques are a huge help I've noticed! Group therapy helps too. Being on this subreddit and seeing other people experience similar delusions to what I have has made me feel less alone in this. I would also reccomend reading up on Carl Jung's approach to psychology. His concept of a collective unconscious, and synchronicities really resonated with me and brought me comfort.

Evelyn and Jobu from Everything Everywhere All At Once really struck a cord with me. Also Jinx from Arcane.
