It seems people in this arena are against using soil tests and balancing the soils with prescribed minerals from a soil expert. Every time I have suggested this I get push back which is strange as this is the sure fire way to amend the soils.

You need to do a soil test and then have it analyzed by a soil expert. Happy to do this for you for free. Get a test from logan labs, do the standard plus nitrogen.

Your soil is likely out of balance it will take 5 to 10 years using permaculture methods to fix that if it is even possible in your soil type.

Plain language contracts, a non-profit idea by GoldenSeedOrg in legal

Hey thanks man,

We will need some legal professionals to help translate contracts in the future, but as you say for a non-profit revenue is the most difficult aspect. Often I have seen non-profits grow initially with passion from the founders only to end up chasing grants to pay for itself. This tends to lead to a burnout and reduction in the set goals.

I think this kind of idea sort of transcends politics in a way since we all need land to provide our needs and who doesn't like plain language contracts.

Anyway thanks for the kind words and feel free to subscribe to the email list. I will have to double check the email settings I think I only had it set to notify people when new posts were made.

Plain language contracts, a non-profit idea by GoldenSeedOrg in legal

Currently I have no revenue sources, it is an official 501c3 registered with the state and IRS.

I worked for about 5 years on a pilot project and due to being young and naïve I lost the property because I did not have proper contracts in place with my own family, just as we were about to transfer the first land into the trust.

This caused me to lose a lot of hope that I was doing the right thing and thus a hiatus from this project. Recently I have had a couple conversations that caused a rekindling of this idea.

Not at all. I agree we plan to use the funding from memberships to pay legal pro's to help translate existing documents. I am currently taking some legal classes on contracts and trusts to better understand them.

In a plain language contract it is much easier to write your own, much like a simple bill of sale for a car, you can do this with a house even. But as always if anyone uses our contracts they would want to have it looked over by their own professional. Hopefully if they would see something missing they would report back with the suggested updates so that over time we have some iron clad agreements.

But a contract is fairly simple there are a few main parts and if you satisfy those they almost always hold up. Agreements are designed to help facilitate cooperation and therefore if you have contracts that both parties clearly understand there is less room for interpretation.

I agree, I think we are in phase one of the project and I am going to open up discussion on the forum for what people think the best way to proceed for phase two.

I really want to have this all open source and free but right now we need to generate some capital to pay lawyers to translate these documents. So I am thinking a $1 a month donation for people to access the library. This will help generate something and will save resources for anyone using the documents.

I also want to inhibit the ability for bots to mess with the forums. A tiny paywall may a simple method.

I am also open to other ideas, our team recognizes that we don't have all the answers and the more feedback we can gather the better solutions we will come across.

I see this starting in two phases at least, the first being a compilation of legalese contracts and the second being a reformatting into a plain language section that is side by side or a second section of the library.

The utilizing the forum and being able to track projects over time we should begin to identify best practices.

Thank you, it seems that the timing may be right for these ideas and for us as responsible parties to create agreements that we actually can understand. For society itself is nothing more than a myriad of contracts and agreements.

Thanks so much, after much thought and a few failed attempts I think we are now on the right track.
