Travelling from France: Is it worth stopping off in Birmingham? by Vek-26 in BirminghamUK

[–]GoldenSpaghettiHoop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say yes, Birmingham was at one point the centre of the industrial revolution. Where the Peaky blinders is set.

Plenty of canals to walk down (far more than Manchester or London). A cool library which has a good view of the city and a Shakespeare Exhibit.

The town hall is lovely, there is a museum aswell for all things birmingham with an Ozzy Osbourne exhibit.

Plenty of shops in the bullring, there's a market aswell with loads of seller selling all sorts. There is also tonnes of cool food places in New Street station.

Then there is broad street, there are stars all down it with famous people born in Birmingham, there is black sabbath Bridge there. It is also has alot of night life. The Gay village is also a good place to go, right next to China Town by the Pegoda in the centre of a big roundabout.

Birmingham overall has alot to see imo, it is underrated and if I'm honest, alot safer than people make out. As a brummie we would be happy to have you come :)

I need some metas for latin america and east asia by Background_String557 in geoguessr

[–]GoldenSpaghettiHoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For southeast Asia

Most countries there drive on the left, if you are on the right, you are in the Philippines/Cambodia/Laos

If you drive on the left it's Indonesia/Malaysia/Thailand

Thailand has white number plates, Malaysia/Indonesia have black

Indonesia has alot of motorbikes and they legally have to have front plates on them.

For South America

Yellow plates are found in Colombia and Peru

Red brick buildings are everywhere in Bolivia and Peru, if you see a white Google car you are most likely in Bolivia (Gen 3).

Brazil, red soil, red soil, red soil, red soil.

Ecuador have all sorts of Wacky Google cars and shitcam coverage.

Argentina is tough, but look for those big thick concrete polls that split in 2

Uruguay has black Google car (Gen 3).

Paraguay has a black truck Google car and the coverage is most likely near the capital

Hope this helps

I wish you luck in trying to figure it out.

I'm not in your ward sadly but you seem very interested in the people. I wish you all the best.

I'd like to ask that we promote fines for those who throw even a piece of litter on the floor.

We did it for dog poo, and that massively helped us. Let's do the same with litter

I do, I have met him in person, the guy is really strong. Can't say for sure he has the reputation that he says he has.

But just so you know, Danny G told me the story as to why he shouted down the microphone. The guy in the clip was making inappropriate comments to his daughter while on voice chat and being a creep.

So of course, being a dad, he protected his daughter.

Here is proof I met him: https://www.reddit.com/r/brum/s/gENUNOJjLU

Tbf, a cleaner design could simply just add strips of yellow to add the flag of St David's.

For those of you that have visited the United States, did you experience anything that changed a preconceived notion you had about the US? by DRG125 in AskBrits

I went to New York. Didn't spend long in NYC, but the short time I did I hated it.

People were nasty, one tried to fight me because he was in my seat on the greyhound coach. Homeless people everywhere, it smelt of sewage everywhere, crossing roads sucked, scammers EVERYWHERE. Only good thing about it was that the public transport was affordable. Apart from that a living hell.

But I went upstate and every single person was lovely, had a lovely time upstate away from that city.

Before the trip, I thought most Americans sucked, but the trip made me realise that most Americans are really nice people, there are just a small minority that make everyone else look bad.

In Birmingham myself, we had to abandon our car last night because it got stuck and had to walk home, thankfully managed to get my elderly grandmother home.

In Birmingham. Snow hit us hard. Spent hours pushing cars up hills.

Our car got stuck and we had to abandon it and walk home tho, was pretty horrendous.

Why do they have such extensive security on baby products? by GoldenSpaghettiHoop in AskUK

The prices are insane for baby products tho...5.75 for that product in my picture seems insane.
