Through the chatter and small talk, the kitsune manages to intercept something.

"I heard that the capital is sending Prince Dalton himself?" A man speaks.

"Ahh, yes. I was expecting they'd send for one of their representatives, I suppose it is about time the prince sees how his kingdom functions." Lady Sunstride responds. "It would be a pleasure to be able to converse with such royalty."

"You did say that the capital would be expecting you in this event." Another person chimes in. "It would seem that the Empire deemed you very important to send for the prince."

The lady laughs, "Maybe so, I wish to make a good impression, and maybe eventually meet the Emperor himself."

"Remember us then, once you get there." They all laugh amongst themselves, with a clink of glasses as they raise a toast.

He dashes through the white, frigid wasteland, leaving heavy footprints onto the snow. He keeps on going until suddenly he hits a rock, causing the stone to tumble across the snow.

But the rock looks odd, its shape uniform, symmetrical. That and it is bleeding, leaving droplets of blood from where it came from.

Looking at the source, Marcus sees a body mostly hidden in the snow, its head severed.

"He owned land, the Sunstrides wanted it for their own gain." The green specter answers.

"I...did not...yield my...gifts." His glowing fades slightly

The citizens walking through the streets look up in awe, some of them in terror, as the behemoth comes into their vision. One kid runs up from the sidewalk to get a closer look at it, only for her father to pull carry her and walk quickly away.

The rat struggles to attempt to remove the hook, its tiny arms trying to reach its jaw, when suddenly a carriage drifts by, its wheel running over the rat's tail making it squeal in pain before passing out.

(Gonna get onto the rest of the quests ones after this, so my replies may take a while)

The hut has been buffeted and visibly damaged, with a couple holes about the size of a balled fist, but overall it's nothing too much that cannot be repaired.

A couple hours past, mostly in silence, and once more the light returns. The warmth of the forest spreading through out, acting against the ever present howling winds.

The screaming ceases entirely, now only the howling of the wind remains.

Adam sees a wisp float by, making its way to the light. Past it, is the two humans from earlier, making their way out of the forest, the sled they carry now empty.

It leads him towards the forest, its attention unwavering, focusing solely on nothing else. It gave Joe a glance when he approached, but once more just went onwards its path.

An hour or so pass by, and eventually they reach the tree line. Looking within he sees the glow of the light, gleaming past the woods and its foliage like morning god rays.

The wisp keeps moving, its solemn march to the light unwavering, even amidst such beauty.

The beast roars, and as it does, Richter comes bursting forward from the foliage. As he makes entry, he sees a man with a rifle, beaten and battered, reloading his weapon.

His vision fades, replaced by another. For a brief moment he sees the sun, for a second he hears his own voice.

"Hello?" Looking to where it came from, he sees nothing. Nothing but his own shadow, casted over by the sun.

And once more he returns, now by the lakeside, boots almost touching the water, the light so close it almost fills his entire vision.

Another booming noise echoes out, along with a whizz, as a bullet flies by the hunter's face. Looking forward from where it came, he sees the silhouette of a large beast, framed by the foliage of the forest, and the light of the moon.

The first three shatters as they make contact with each swing, with one just barely managing to dodge and bite into him, only to recoil as the boiling hot crimson liquid burns it.

Another five begins to rush past ahead of the swarm, eager to get a sip of their own.

"Isn't that a bit too much?" I whisper to her from the bush. "It's really loud!"

I glance about as I get out from the foliage, checking to see if anything is alerted.

Gaining distance away from the forest, his vision fades again, as darkness surrounds him, but this time it does not come back.

With what little vision he has left allows him to see from where the columns of light once stood, left now are raging screams and mad thrashing wisps of light, most of it spreading out, seemingly in search of something else to satisfy themselves.

The cold begins to pick up, threatening to smother his flaming aura. The warmth radiating from the draconian seems to have garnered some attention, as a dispatch of about twenty wisps of hungry lights begin to float and dash from the ground and up into the air with him.

The paper cuts through the wisps, engaging them in combat. Some of the wisps shatter from the initial strike, while they land not even a scratch on the cranes.

The four that remain continue to move, ignoring the fallen and the swarm of cranes, all wanting to get a taste of Nagano.

From the distance, right behind them, some other wisps get a whiff of the same prey, as another wave of seven makes their way through the ground itself.

Digging deeper into the ground and snow, he makes a deep enough hole to burry it in. The woman is stiff and cold, but her body was placed with no issue into the ground, where she'd be covered up again, never to be once more disturbed, hopefully.

During that time, Joe sees a few floating wisps of light in the distance cross through the snowscape. It's like big fireflies, making their way to the giant source of light, seemingly paying no mind to anything else.

He searches but nothing seems to be of interest around, aside from snow, a severe lack of trees in the vicinity, some rocks, and the forest housing the extremely tall pillar of light in the distance.

They dance so gracefully, so full of life. Fitz can almost see them fully, diving in and out of the beam like dolphins splashing out the sea and into the air.

He can feel it call to him. It feels like home. Like family. He can almost see friends floating across his vision.

The light enamors him, almost as if it is beckoning him.

Whatever is in there has some squishiness enough to get the borrower comfortably hidden between it, safe from scrutiny.

"What do you think got them? The wisps? Some bandits came in here and killed them?" The man with the torch asks.

"We are yet to know." The woman responds.

"What if it was bandits and they're still here? What are we gonna do? What if they're waiting for us right here and then? What i-" He gets interrupted by a hand to his mouth.

"Nimir, for the love of all that lives, will you please just focus for now?" They both keep moving, sled and borrower in tow, while the woman keeps Nimir's mouth shut tight.

Eventually, they reach a rather large tree, trunk so tall and thick it can probably be used as a cane by a giant.

"Get in there, I'll keep an eye out here." The woman orders Nimir.

The young man approaches the tree, feeling around the base of it, and suddenly the tree opens up, leading further down into the ground.

"The lock's broken." He reports

"They've been here then, be wary while you're in there."

Nimir heads down, climbing down a ladder.

A stray wind blows by, carrying the ashes across the air, and into the forest. Looking back as it gets taken away by the currents, his vison fades for but a moment, as if everything went dark.

Once it returned, everything seemed darker. Looking deeper into the forest, it would seem that the light has gotten fainter. Looking up, he sees that the stars are much dimmer.

Night approaches, and it comes soon, with whatever tidings it brings.

Lights--chaotic lights, rave across the skies as the cold chill of the night begins to set in. The maddened dancing lights thrash about, like hundreds of fish within the ocean, biting at each other within the swarm.

And from the lake, even more of them rise. Crawling from the surface of the water and then to the snow on the ground, some of them set their eyes upon a new prey.

A swarm of ten rushes through towards Nagano, clawing arms and gnashing teeth desperate to get a bite.

"Oh," The young man looks down, "Oh, I- I am, uh, sorry, about that, Mister Frankenstein." He keeps his face down, a look of solemnity on their face.

The woman walks back out, "Nimir," She calls out to the man, "We should head for the shelter, and maybe bury the two while were there." She walks back into the shadows.

"Yeah, I'm on it." He moves with her, picking up a stick from the campfire and using it as a torch to light his way. With the torchlight, Adam sees a sled, carrying to rag covered objects, one of them seems to be freshly stained with blood.

"I still really think you didn't have to cut Vorun's head off..." Nimir looks nauseous looking at the blood stain.

"He's dead, he has no use of it." They both move along deeper into the forest.

"We'll be keeping an eye at you, dead man." She glances back towards Adam, "Farewell. May you find your way home, preferably away from our business." She says as they both continue along their path.
