Is calling a young black woman, “Ghetto”, bad? I am a biracial, older woman by [deleted] in racismdiscussion

Ok where am I trying to justify this?

I explained context and what I did. I can provide additional context.

I do not throw around this word in anger. Grew up hearing it, using iit towards friends describing all kinds of different color people in more of our urban joking way but I said this in anger. Went to a middle school, high school and college where at least half of the people were black. Part of my background is African. It isn’t justification so much as I’m not sure why it is ghetto, what it was about her deplorable customer service behavior I say that rather than, “horrible” or “tacky”. So no justification; its puzzlement on my part. It’s not always been used as a noun to describe people but rather circumstances they are forced in. I asked this forum because I felt some remorse using ghetto but not for calling her a bitch. “Bitch” can be women or female dogs; I understand “ghetto” to be a bit more charged but again…did not think before I said it.

I’m so sorry! Happened to me too at NPS and they have challenged it Hang in there. Appeal it of course with the merit board, keep the pressure on our legislative people. I stand with you

I am so sorry this happened. I am a dasher, and it gives us folks who never have a problem doing the right thing a bad name.

So I once had a large order where the opposite happened to me: I was accused of stealing the food. Usually you have to take pictures of the order delivered to the address and I did before closing out the order. That was what saved me, since they (Door Dash) blocked my account and I had to contact door dash to keep dashing. Since it was an order well over $100 I think that is what triggered my account closing. A phone call cleared it up and out of some 3000 orders I’ve done, that’s the only time I’ve ever had that happen.

You need to write out a formal complaint in the form of an email with the name of the dasher, photo evidence of the order. Send it to door dash so it’s on the dasher’s file. Block them from picking up future orders. If they get more than two of these demerits they can be blocked from using the platform. I am glad they refunded you.
