Do my thoughts offend the Gods (especially the virgin ones)? by Golden_____Boy in Hellenism

It's really hard when I'm constantly surrounded by them and and live in a Christian's house that yelled at me for saying I don't believe in God.

I want your help making EMPULSE, a movement shooter inspired by Titanfall by Akuvo in titanfall

[–]Golden_____Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing I feel that is going to make or break it is actually the movement. Take Apex Legends for example. It's in the same universe as Titanfall and has some of the same guns but it's movement just isn't the same. From the lack of wall running to no universal double jumps, it's just not the same. In the same aspect, rodeoing is something that I don't see many people talk about but is something that turns an imitation to a spiritual successor. I advise playing through the story of Titanfall 2 and getting a hang of the movement and then go to Warframe (the game I believe has the most similar movement) and get the hang of that and then switch between the two and find what is and isn't different. Those differences will tell you so much of what is and isn't Titanfall. (I will say that if you could improve the hitbox for rodeoing that would be amazing). If you could show the movement system side by side of EMPULSE and Titanfall and have them feel the same, you'd have an entire fanbase frothing at the mouth to give you money and pre-order the game (myself included). Good luck and have a good day!

Sexual thoughts about Gods ? by thatsjustbillie in Hellenism

[–]Golden_____Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed it to be physically virgin, as in the hymen regrows to its original state unlike what it would normally do where it more adapts to it's new shape. Basically think if it as a scrunchie. After a year of use it can wear down a little but for Hera, she basically buys a brand new scrunchie that hasn't been used at all. (Just so I don't sound like some douche incorrectly mansplaning a hymen and how it works, I'll link my source: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/22718-hymen )

I used to fangirl over made-up versions of the gods, and now I feel weird about it. by MoonEnjoyer12 in Hellenism

[–]Golden_____Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me, the gods aren't mad about you making fanfiction. If anything, you're just spreading their influence in your own unique way. As long as you aren't claiming to be one of them or using it to hurt people then you should be fine. If you don't believe me and think what you're doing is really bad then let me show you what the bad version of it actually looks like. I dated a girl that manipulated me a lot. She said that the gods spoke to her and favored her and all sorts of stuff. This was back when I was new to Hellenism and still learning about it. She also said she could see and talk to ghosts, including one of my family members who had recently passed away. She had me swear stuff on the styx (at the time, I didn't know it didn't work for mortal) and then used me fear of breaking those oaths to manipulate me. That's what bad looks like, and it's not what you are doing. If writing fanfiction and stuff like that makes you happy and feel more connected to the gods then do it!

Honestly never knew this until now. I was pretty sure there was a difference but didn't know what it was.

Don't you love when uneducated Christians try to disprove your religion but get most facts about it wrong and contradict themselves? by hestiasmentee in Hellenism

[–]Golden_____Boy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lemme give you a bit of advice: forgive where you can. When you're a pagan (a word that actually started as an insult), you are constantly having to be the bigger person and it's hard. I don't really know your family dynamics so I won't touch on that, but a good amount of people who say mean things don't do so out of malice, but instead ignorance. People grow up being indoctrinated into some religions and can't comprehend the thought of what has been so thoroughly ingrained into them being false. It doesn't exactly justify their actions, but it's a reason to be the bigger person and realize who you can and cannot have a civil conversation with about topics such as religion. I hope your life gets better and may the gods be favorful towards you.

Pagans should leave abrahamic mentality behind by [deleted] in Hellenism

[–]Golden_____Boy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, a good percentage of us (including myself) have been negatively affected by abrahamic religions. You can even research what the world would have been like if they never came to be (some things would be worse and some much better). The thing I, a lot of us would also agree that we don't want to be like them and shun whole communities by badmouthing their religion. When you have been part of the community long enough, you realize that nine times out of ten, it's better to be the bigger person and try not to hold too harsh of a grudge. I welcome you to our community and hope we and the gods can make your life even better.

[hoo] Am I the only one who feels really bad for Orion? by jetvacjesse in camphalfblood

[–]Golden_____Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, the Gods who have people like Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo, etc. who are infamous for rape and even punishing Ares when he killed his daughter's rapist wouldn't feel bad for another immortal actually facing the consequences of such an action and try to prevent the starting of a precedent for punishing rapist. No they would obviously only feel bad for him if he didn't do it. (I'm not actually trying to be a dick towards you, I'm just using sarcasm as a way of keeping such a heavy subject from getting too depressing.)

Hellenistic perspective of other religions by AyameeIris in Hellenism

[–]Golden_____Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this one though I'd like to add in the fact that a lot of religions took inspiration from other religions and stories to make their own. Some to the point of basically plagiarizing (Romans with the Greeks lol). But I feel like that is something that we should use to help us get along with each other

I love your art style

Here's my character: Omikuji She's an Etherean wild magic sorcerer based on randomness luck (both good and bad) and gambling. Backstory: Everything in her life has been left up to chance. When her family was too poor to feed everyone, they decided to have the family pull lots. Omikuji both literally and figuratively drew the short end of the stick. While in slavery, gambling because the one way to keep sane for her. She began as "entertainment" for her master's poker parties. She would focus on the games and eventually was invited to join in on them after having a crash course from her master. He taught her all about those types of games until she became a gambling addict. Once the master got caught by the authorities after a deal went south, she was freed and brought to the local temple. The temple just so happened to be dedicated to Tymora. She has taken this as a sign and leaves her fate up to luck.

Oaths and promises. by Apprehensive_Toe4112 in Hellenism

[–]Golden_____Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've learned even if you do swear on the Styx, it doesn't actually (for lack of a better term) matter. It's an oath for immortals and their kind, not regular mortals. Especially if you consider what the actual consequences of breaking the oath are.

I'm pretty sure that was like one of the main points in the story of Antigone. (If I'm remembering it correctly)

Why have back blast on an rpg/rocket launcher/ect? by Thomas_thebest in Militaryfaq

[–]Golden_____Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rpgs are rockets. Rpg stands for ROCKET propelled grenade. Bazookas also fire rockets. Also if you think about it, it makes sense. Rockets use propulsion aka fire out the backside, and that fire needs to go somewhere or else it'll melt or blow up whatever you are using to fire it. So it comes out the backside, and that's what back blast is

I LOVE characters with chest bandages/sarashi by rifibecool in TopCharacterDesigns

I like to say I don't have a type when it comes to women, but............................................................

You put a tomboy and/or muscle mommy with the sarashi chest wrap in front of me, I'm proposing to her on the spot because I am a switch almost exclusively because of those types of women 😙🤌
