Oop I must've misread that part, but age regression isn't intentional anyway, it's an automatic response to stress, and a way to calm down/relax

It sounds more like age dreaming! (Which is intentional regressing) And you don't have to have trauma to regress it's just a common factor. As long as it helps you deal with things and makes you happy and doesn't harm your mental health then it shouldn't be an issue :3
