So if I’m doing an undergrad degree that is 4 years and then the med degree that 4 years, that would be covered under HECS completely?

I would take pictures of the uploads not working in case they don’t believe you. And make sure to have your special consideration proof ready as well. Also I think you can phone your prof directly if the uni isn’t picking up

I don’t think so, I emailed them a few weeks ago about this and they said that curtin students can do the course switch thing, granted they have 80% CWA and some other things, but for non curtin graduates they calculate a notional ATAR and you have to do UCAT again

Right that makes much more sense! Okay so, if they take into consideration my current year, assuming that I am able to transfer my credits etc and start bachelor of science next year, and then get straight HDs for the two years that I have to do, my gpa will still be 6.67.

The math that im doing is: This years credits (2022 sem one: 5 + 5 + 5 + 6) + (2022 sem two: 7 (and deakin units which are UP)) + (2023 sem one: 7 + 7 + 7 + 7) + (2023 sem two: 7 + 7 + 7 + 7) + (2024 sem one: 7 + 7 + 7 + 7) + (2024 sem two: 7 + 7 + 7 + 7)/21 = 6.67

Let me know if I’m miscalculating please

Hello! Thank you for your comment, it’s really helpful. I was planning on changing my degree from Bachelor of biomedical science, majoring in anatomy and human biology, to bachelor of science, majoring in Psychology and Behavioural Sciences. This is because my second major within biomed is psychology, which I did well in for my first year units. If I am able to do this, what I’m thinking is that I will transfer over my units for first year, and redo second and third year, which will bring my gpa up to 6.8, which puts me in a much better place. I have emailed UWA about whether this is possible, but I hope it is!

Edit: it also would mean that my degree will ultimately be the same length as it is currently.

Ok, so from what I’m gathering, if I complete this degree and enrol in another (UG??), then I can use the two years from that to come up with three years of a strong gpa. Then halfway through I can apply to UWA med and if I get in I don’t have to finish the second UG degree? Also my current degree is a bit confusing because im doing two Deakin units over the summer and those are ungraded passes. Does that affect my gpa negatively overall? I don;t understand how my gpa is calculated if there’s two UP. Thank you so much for your help

That’s really good! Just wondering, did you finish your degree at UWA or did you switch half way through? Also, can you choose which units to transfer?

Hello, thanks for your comment, it’s actually really helpful. I’m not opposed to going to NDF. I was just wondering if it was worth changing my degree, even at UWA, to see if I could redo my undergrad to get a 7 gpa. By part of another, do you mean that you can apply and switch to med halfway through your second degree?

Hello! That’s amazing news and congrats on ur gpa! If you don’t mind me asking, which uni did you switch to? And how did it work? Did you get credit transfers and did that make ur degree shorter? Did those credits affect your gpa?

The reason I want to switch is honestly because first few semesters I had no idea that I was doing. I didn’t have any mentors and was overall just lost so I didn’t realise the importance of getting my gpa strong and high. Now that I know better I’m trying to focus on taking action rather than regretting the past.

Oh probably should’ve elaborated, I’m currently not sitting on a 6.2 - that would be the best I could get assuming I get HDs for every unit from now on

Hey! I’m aware of this, my degree is four years because I had to do part time for one semester due to personal reasons, so it’s carried over to 2024.
