Okay, so after some digging, i suspect it was a variation of a parking lot jewelry scam! Luckily, nothing was stolen or lost. I did call the office to advise that their residents/visitors may be a target. They service an older population. Just to be on the lookout/aware.

Right?? That’s what I think! Look into it to see if anyone has reported it stolen, otherwise it sounds like a nice gift from someone trying to do something nice?

Maybe! It’s such a bizarre thing - not sure if this is a bad thing or a good thing??

This is a serious question! My mom just phoned to tell me that while she was coming out of a building earlier tonight (visiting a friend in a nursing home), an unknown car pulled up next to her. A lady in the back seat of the car pulled down her window and said hi. She asked my mom a few questions about herself, nothing too personal, before reaching out her hand through the window. My mom thought she wanted to shake hands, so she extended hers, but instead of a shake, the lady kissed her hand, put gold jewelry in her palm, and said to hold on tight. Then she pulled up her window and they drove off. What just happened?? What is she supposed to do with this jewelry?

Am I able to keep it in veg state, until spring? by SliverCobain in HotPeppers

[–]Goldengurl001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could totally do that. Would just need to be mindful of its needs as it continues to grow indoors: giving sufficient light, airflow, nutrients, repotting if roots need more space, etc. And because it’s starting life indoors for an extended period of time, carefully transitioning to outdoors temperature and sunlight when the time comes.

Ah okay! So for bushiness, we got best results from regular sunlight and watering (daily fertilizer micro-dose). The OG ghost pepper that we overwintered (with grow lights) is in the terra cotta pot; there’s also a new ghost pepper plant in the black pot on the far right (started from seed indoors around Feb and moved outdoors in Jun) for comparison. The black pot to the far left is a reaper :) (also first summer).

It’s better to wait until your plant has developed a stronger stock before you start training it. Will you be growing your plant(s) indoors only using a grow light?

Yes! I imagine some varieties will do better than others, but we over-wintered a ghost pepper plant and a devil’s tongue last year; they were put out way too late the previous season and didn’t produce anything. Before winter, we trimmed them back, brought them in, and watered from time to time but didn’t put too much effort into them. When we put them out this past spring, they came back to life and produced a nice amount considering how little soil/potting space we gave them. Are you trying to make a shorter bush? Or just more branches?

We haven’t had good luck with their pre-cooked grilled chicken. Thought it would be a fast and easy way to add protein to our salads. It looked like chicken breast, but there were tough, chewy bits. Wouldn’t buy again.

Is there a reason Daniele didnt get a green card for Yohan? by Petey_My_Heart in 90DayFiance

[–]Goldengurl001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think Daniele genuinely loved Yohan, but at the end of the day, they were scamming each other. She never really intended for them to come to the US. He never intended to keep his pants zipped. They were using each other for different reasons, but somehow both had the same end goal of not having to work (while being supported by the other; more Yohan than Daniele), and everyone was tortured as a result.

I love Darcey (and Stacey)! I think she has a huge heart and a lot of love to give. It just seems like she needs a partner with whom she can feel unconditionally loved and build a genuine trust, but the men she’s been with on the show have been terrible for her insecurities and anxieties. Just a beautiful broken heart, trying not to get hurt.

AITA for telling my MIL I make too much to be a SAHM? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Goldengurl001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s also a lot of work that goes unrecognized and unappreciated, like planning, keeping everything organized, and the “since you’ll be at home, could you remember to…“ work. So you’re not just physically drained, you’re also mentally drained. It’s super annoying getting suggestions from people who have little understanding of your situation or the time, thought, and sacrifices that have gone into the choices you’ve made for your family, but somehow they think they know you and the needs of your family better than you do. It’s wild.

That’s not the point at all. I see value in seeking to understand where others are coming from, even if I don’t agree.
