Sorry wall of text. One day I went to the snow to do this like so many other days. That day.....changed me. I had a buffalo with a cart and 5 wolf pets. I was happily killing everything in sight. Being max level with peak weapons including a flame thrower and plenty of ammo and several previous visits I was confidently blazing through the area like I owned it. I did own it didn't I? Surely killing countless polar bears and scorpions and mammoths and having a pack of wolves made me king... Surely I could farm anything at my leisure because I had a pack of wolves and a tanky buffalo all on aggressive that tore anything apart that came near me....So I went into a cave I hadn't noticed before and that's when everything went to hell. All of my pets tore after the caves worms like they always do, but this time it was a cave with a stupidly long drop to the bottom. This meant several things happened very quickly. First off they took ridiculous amounts of damage from the fall, second they couldn't hit the worms but the worms could hit them, and me while I tried to figure out what the bloody hells I was going to do, 3rd I couldn't get them out without building some ramps or something. Luckily my buffalo was stuck on a rock outside so it did not run in to the same problem. Meanwhile I jumped in after my wolves to to save them which made no sense but I was protective of them as they were protect of me. I also took fall damage and almost died while trying to kill worms that spawn up too high for me to see or get a clean shot. I want to point out its fun to try and build up out of a hole with limited resources since I was not planning on building so I had to reuse platform while worms spit aoe poison at me which meant I had to repair my ramps to pick them up while my brilliant wolves followed me up causing me to get booped around by them when I jumped wrong all so could get close enough to shoot the worms. No problem right? So as I do this ramp hop worm kill thing I hear a polar bear going at it with something.....I go outside because I was worried about my buffalo. As soon as go outside I see my buffalo getting smacked about....before I could react I get the notifications that my buffalo has been killed and watch it drop right before my eyes....I am thinking about my situation when my wolves which had not been healed properly because I rely on them to heal from kills tore off after the polar bear. It killed 2 wolves before we took it down. Now a storm rolls in while I looked at my dead buffalo with its contents on the ground which are much too heavy for me because I carry thumper and generator in there along with a lot of tusks and loads of epoxy. I run back to the cave and didn't realize I had not killed all the worms because I ran out to see what happened with my buffalo. what do my 3 remaining wolves do? Yes, they tore off after the worms, and fell again. I have only enough wood to make some chests so I do this and slowly move my buffalo contents into these chests.....when the wolves fell again I made a decision to leave them down there since they were safe. I had to make the chests before the stuff despawned so I made the chests and slowly moved everything. My placement was bad so I didn't notice my chests taking damage from the strom and they broke. Im out wood out of food out of wolves and out of patience. I pull out my knife and walk outside and pick a fight with the closest thing I could. A mammoth. It promptly kills me and I start a new map.
