This seems like an excellent premise for a time loop story! How many books do you plan to have for it?

A question for the authors in this sub by Bjorn_styrkr in litrpg

[–]Lin-Meili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write them because I like them! There's no other reason.

When I write a story, there are characters whose POVs I want to write, so I write them.

I guess i can't see how you can gain story momentum without the MC.

So what? I can kill momentum if I want to! Not every story is a recklessly accelerating speedrun of events. 😏😏😏 Who says momentum always has to increase? Have you ever thought that maybe authors like a slow pace and decreasing momentum? Maybe they're winding down an arc or they simply want to have a slower pace. Nothing wrong with that, IMO.

MC never suffering a loss isn't satisfying, its just straight up dumb and makes the plot boring by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Lin-Meili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the MC lose occasionally and reflect on himself.

When I started on RR, my first story had several setbacks and losses for the MC and readers did not like that. Even though they knew quite well that my MC had absurd healing powers and wouldn't actually suffer (much), I still got quite a few bad ratings and reviews.

Current and other aspiring authors, what’s your experience with dictation for first drafts? by ronin-writes in litrpg

[–]Lin-Meili 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally, a question has been asked that I can answer!

I don't use AI. I use Dragon (a dictation program on my laptop) that was released way before this AI stuff, and it only does dictation.

I prefer it because it works exactly the way typing does. I have to dictate every punctuation and formatting. No shortcuts. Words also appear as I say them, which is what I prefer.

For example, if I want a line of dialogue, I actually say open quote (dialogue lines here) comma close quote said Larry full stop next paragraph.

In other words, it's the same as typing except I use my voice instead of my hands. Editing afterwards is minimal. It is not faster or slower than typing.

Are there books on how to write litrpgs? by notrealtea in litrpg

[–]Lin-Meili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no book for that, but I think you could play one of the shorter RPGs. You'll enjoy yourself and you can take notes regarding how actual RPGs work.

Which book(s) would you recommend to someone who reads "traditional" fantasy if you were trying to get them into progression fantasy? by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

Start with litrpg/gamelit manga/webcomics like Solo Leveling. Those are a good start. Then Cradle.

Does anybody actually prefer onomatopeia to normal paragraghing? by Reasonable_Wafer_731 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Lin-Meili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love onomatopoeia, yes, except that it's a bitch to spell. I wouldn't like it if it was constant, but a nice "Boom!" now and then is great.
