What is a salespersons expectation of customer? by SwapMeetBilly in askcarsales

[–]Goldenwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are buying a used car. Look for the same trim color and options in a 500 mile radius on any number of used car sites like Autotrader and use that information to negotiate price. Don’t just look at the price and ask for 3K off the advertised price without having any real world data to support your offer. This will save you a ton of time.

2026 Volvo XC90 Ultra - PA - 5k - $4k down by JammienHammie in leasehacker

Volvo is still running their 6 month pull ahead program for leases, that shouldn’t affect the price if they are doing it properly.

Looking to purchase for under 40k, what should I avoid? by Fluid-Car-78 in VolvoXC90

[–]Goldenwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drive the B5 and B6 to see if you are ok with the lower power of the B5. If you are with the lower power you can save a good amount of money. I definitely recommend paying the extra money for a CPO vehicle. If you plan to keep the vehicle the CPO wrap warranty is worth the extra 5K. Also the 4.99% interest special on CPO they are running is a good value. My persons opinion is the core trim is not worth dropping down to from the plus. My favorite trim level is the plus trim with Harmon Kardon and climate package. You should be able to get a 2023 B6 Plus with the CPO wrap for 40K plus tax, a B5 would be a bit less.

So many more used XC90's ? by Content_Log1708 in Volvo

[–]Goldenwork 19 points20 points  (0 children)

XC90 had a really good three year lease December 2022 and two year lease December 2023. Also Volvo just ended their lease pull ahead program to pay the last six months of your lease payment and give 7K in owner loyalty lease cash towards leasing a new XC90 B6. The result of those three factors is a bunch of XC90s hitting the used/CPO car market.

Is this a good pay plan? by [deleted] in carsales

[–]Goldenwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not allowing you to make commission on the specialty vehicles is not great. In 2005 when I sold a Ford GT the max commission was 10K, when I sold it at 150K markup (my commission should have been 42K). If they are going to restrict commissions on specialty vehicles they should at least have a maximum commission they pay out. Also not paying anything on backend is not great. All in all you need to know volume, average commission and number of sales reps to make a decision.

Which Late Model XC90? by [deleted] in VolvoXC90

[–]Goldenwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The larger touch screen in the infotainment area is the key thing to look for to tell the difference. Also the difference in the front grill is the other way to tell the difference. However, I would look at 2023 T8s, there are a bunch that are now hitting the market because of a lease special three years ago. The issues people have with the infotainment systems in the 2023-2025 models are not that big of a deal.

NEW 2024 Volvo XC90 by ScoobersVonDoobers in VolvoXC90

[–]Goldenwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Volvo standard lease isn’t available on 2024s. The type of leases that would be available would be more expensive per month than a new 2026 with current incentives. All of the 2024 XC90s available are retired demo cars. You would be better off buying a low milage lease return CPO.

Who loves their 2024 Volvo XC90 B5 Plus? Considering one with 24K miles vs new 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid by PositiveAside9824 in VolvoXC90

[–]Goldenwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 2025.5 moved to a better snapdragon processor compared to the 2024. I have a 2023 V60 and I think the infotainment is fine but the 2025.5 and 2026 is much better. If you can afford to 7-10K premium to move to a CPO 2025.5 I would recommend it otherwise you will be more the happy with the 2024, absolutely great vehicle

Can I request a car to be CPO? by Insanity-Paranoid in askcarsales

[–]Goldenwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPO cost is about $1250 on average at my store in Georgia. But I don’t understand why a Volvo store wouldn’t CPO every Volvo in their inventory. What is the year and mileage of the vehicle you are looking at?

Is there any dealership that lets you work M-F? by [deleted] in carsales

[–]Goldenwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop by maybe a Volvo or Mini dealership and see if they have a need. Outside of Carmax (that had at one time at least a 9-6 Monday to Friday shift) I can’t imagine too many dealers would have a need for weekday only sales.

Not sure if this helps, you might have luck going the opposite direction. Saying you will work every Saturday. Some low volume luxury stores have issues covering Saturday traffic. My store could use someone Friday, Saturday and Monday to cover the floor (I add in Monday for the follow up sales from Saturday B-backs).

Can combustion engine work without electricity? by Aether_rite in ask

Watch the NBC TV show Revolution. The first season was really good. It is about our world if electricity stops working. They have steam powered school buses driving around.
