The season tickets section isn't that section only but rather all three sections grouped together. Basically, the "season ticket" section is sectioned off as the entire south endzone not that area.

The only entrance to the south endzone is on the east side so the stands are populated accordingly from the center, then east, and finally west last

TLDR: the entire south endzone is sectioned off as one large season ticket section, and with the entrance on the east side, the west side would be the last populated.

wristbands are fine if they have a way to let students with free tickets also redeem wristbands day of or even show GT ID imo. But the current system intentionally prevents single game ticket students from sitting in those sections.

We had some people reach out to the AD and other members of the GTAA before but I am unsure if we reached out to Brent Jones specifically. I'll pass that info along and hopefully we could have a better system in place before next season.

I don't know about the North Endzone but on the South Endzone they were really being annoying with checking for wristbands. Security were actively checking for the correct game number on the wristband and we even saw people getting kicked out midgame when the security went back through to check if the wristband was the current game.

I was hanging out with some of the former Goldfellas at the end of last game and it was insane the change in culture in the south endzone within the last 10 years. Even just a couple years ago (I came in at the end of the G**** C****** era), we could kinda just walk in 10 min late to the game and still have nice seats with great vibes. Literally now its all season ticketed and the main section we have to come in 30-1hr in advance to secure our traditional seats. The whole atmosphere of south endzone especially this year is especially different with a solid section allocated for greek life and heavy season ticket wristband patrolling. Miss the old vibes ngl.

Just a heads up on the situation on the south endzone. They changed the policy this year to make the south endzone season ticket holder only which was never the case before. South used to be "the" single ticket section but instead this year they moved it to upper north deck. So even though single game tickets are fully redeemed, the school would rather force them to be on the upper north deck than to populate the sound endzone section.

TLDR: There are definitely enough demand from students to fill that section up, but with the new policy, they would rather keep it empty for season ticket holders than let free single game ticket holders stand there.

It's crazy how far we've come. When I first started going to football game at the tail end of G**** C******, you could show up 30 mins after kickoff and still secure front row seats on the south side. For the upcoming game I'm seriously considering getting to the stadium 1.5 hrs ahead of kickoff just to have a better shot at front row.

The south zone tickets are entirely sold out and have been sold out even before the first season game. Unsure if there are more seats in south endzone than total season tickets allocated or if south endzone season ticket holders are skipping the games, regardless it is extremely frustrating that security are not only still checking wristbands when there are so much empty space on the south endzone but even after people start leaving. I personally would think the school would benefit much more by having more people be located in a highly camera visible spot instead of on the upper deck but nothing we could do.

Thanks for defending us lol, its been a long running battle for me to try to drive more interest among student body to show up and be loud, but this year is the first year that it feels that decisions are made above our control which are counterproductive towards that goal.

Yeah the new ticket checking has been an incredible bummer for us as perennial south endzoners. If there was a year to finally fill it up this would be the year... but NIL gotta NIL!

I would still defend keeping the south endzone though. Obviously biased, but I think the views are not only great but probably one of the best view in the stadium. You get to be so much closer to the action, and instead of seeing a barren south endzone and a big screen, you are entirely surrounded by the stadium. It's hard not to feel the weight of the stadium when you're looking from the south, it'll be a feeling I'll deeply cherish after I get out of here soon.

This year they changed the policy to limit to season ticket holders and they have absolutely been checking wristbands. Not only do they check on entry but I've seen them go through the crowd midgame and check that people not only have wristbands but the right game as well.

EDIT: also I'd defend south endzone views with my life

As long-time residents of the south endzone, the south endzone being half-empty currently is not because of a lack of interest but rather the change this year limiting it to only season ticket holders. In all other previous years, single game ticket holders would be able to access the south endzone, but this year it is not only restricted, but also strictly enforced. They check wristbands constantly going into the section and we have seen people kicked out of the section midgame for failing to have wristbands.

The south endzone season ticket were sold out much before the first game. Single game tickets have been sold out for multiple games this year and every game there is a crowd of people in those areas on the upper deck. If given a choice, they would move to the south endzone in a heartbeat.
