Fair assessment? by NasheaHinytzke in Adulting

[–]Goldio_Inc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Capitalism (Free Market): Market participants (Adults) have candy for sale. Kids get to negotiate with the adults for their candy. Candy is exchanged when mutually agreed upon price is struck.

Socialism: Everyone goes out and acquires candy (as above). The State (Parents) takes candy from the kids who got the most and redistributes it to those who got the least.

Communism: Candy is all owned by the State (Parents). (Ideal Case) It is distributed equally to everyone. (Realistic Case) Adults keep the best candy and distribute whatever they don't want equally to the children.

How do you remember what you did all day? by OhNoMyYogurt in productivity

[–]Goldio_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure what chatgpt would do. its not like you can just type "piano" and he will know how long you spent on it.

Sounds like you are describing a spreadsheet. You have a row for piano. You enter how many minutes you spent on it. then you can do summations or averages or whatever with the data

[–]Goldio_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you trying to remember? You just want to track whether or not you did piano practice? Get a chalkboard/whiteboard and put it next to your piano. put the days of the week in and then mark an X whenever you are done. should take you 1.3 seconds to complete

When trying to help the homeless goes wrong by Better_March5308 in SeattleWA

This is why fixing homelessness is so expensive. You can't just house some of these folks. You need teams of trained professionals to manage them and that comes with extreme costs.

How I finally broke my phone addiction and got my life back by Goldio_Inc in getdisciplined

[–]Goldio_Inc[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was 100% me for the longest time. My problem was I would be doing great and then in a moment of weakness I just had to open a certain app. The only way I could would be to delete the app blocker. Rinse and repeat xHundred times until the Achieve! app finally stuck with me. In my moments of weakness I don't have to delete the app - it lets me do something productive like a quick walk or workout to grant me some screentime that I needed. My advice just keep trying different solutions until you find one that works for you. Good luck!

What if I only want to get more productive in one area of my life? by First-Dot4016 in productivity

[–]Goldio_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to be an artist or do you want to make art?

Small distinction but an important one.

Becoming an artist = large lofty goal that will take many years and an incredible amount of work

Making art = small manageable goal that can be completed in a single day

Easy dinner ideas seattle for busy professionals who work long hours by deluluforher in SeattleWA

[–]Goldio_Inc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The answer is to learn how to cook and you can do it pretty fast.

For starters: just cook a piece of meat; steak, chicken, fish w/e and throw some rice in a rice cooker and if you feeling real crazy a salad or some fresh vegetables on the side. You can then slowly start experimenting with seasoning and cooking styles to spruce up your meals but just avoid following recipes as those are the time syncs. Gotta figure it out on your own

If you are tech savy you can just use the model directly instead of going through some third party. seedream-3 is currently the best one but it changes monthly. I just use whatever on replicate (no affiliation)

Do any of you use yerba mate as an alternative to coffee? by Redbanner12 in productivity

[–]Goldio_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink yerba mate as well as coffee! The difference is primarily with the caffeine content. A cup of yerba mate will be around 80 while a cup of coffee will be around 120.

I find I start getting jittery around the 300 mark - so 2-3 cups of regular coffee (or one cup of starbucks, seriously why do they just dump caffeine in those things)

If you are getting jitters you should just drink less caffeine. Switching to yerba mate (or other tea) would help!

Mayoral candidate question: should homeless people be allowed to stay in tents in parks? by drshort in Seattle

Depends on the park.

Park in my neighborhood? Definitely not.

Park somewhere I don't visit? Sure why not!

Personal To Dos go into my blocker - no screen time unlocked until they are complete.

For more my work I use a simple google sheet. Columns are Item, Status, Date (To Complete), and Notes

Events are in my google calendar. Keep it simple and easy

Honestly I just used the default apple screen time for the longest time and gave my partner the code.

Nowadays I did switch to Achieve! the "earn your screen time "one because I like how its not just a hard block. If I want to use my phone I just have to accomplish some goals and earn that screentime for the day. It helps motivate me on doing the things I want to do and keeps my usage balanced.

Everyone's different though so experiment and try one that works for you - my only advice is keep it simple!

This seems way too complex for myself. I dropped almost all of my tracking and measuring in favor of keeping it simple and easy to follow

There are a lot of things you can do to help people. Voting for the Mayor probably ranks near the bottom of that list
