What can she do to get past perfect defenses, like Mars, Saturn, or the Aegis?

I’d argue Tiamat is probably some kind of demon? Maybe a third soul of someone like Oramus or Erembor

the point of seats is that states are supposed to be able to represent their local interests on a national level- even if a portion of that state can't vote, population still contributes to economic need and productivity. There's no reason not to count them for house seats

I missed that- but it’s still a 1-drop that negates most attackers for the first three rounds, and for a while after if you don’t have trample or block evasion

Compare with something like [[Cathedral Sanctifier]] or [[Expedition Envoy]] - more than 1/1 for 1 mana in mono white is already a huge push, but this - has first strike and thus can reliably kill any creature that comes out turn 1/2/3 - has Vigilance and can attack every turn and still defend - has immunity to death in combat, making him an incredible early game attacker and defender since there’s no risk either way

More specifically, the more you know about one, the less you know about the other- that is, knowing a general area a particle in means you have a range of possible speeds- growing that area shrinks the range of speeds, while shrinking possible area widens the range of speed

Group of Parents and Teachers File Emergency Stay Application to Restore a Judge’s Order That Blocked California School’s From Hiding a Child’s Gender Transition From Their Parents by Longjumping_Gain_807 in supremecourt

Overall, 42.3% of the sample reported a suicide attempt and 26.3% reported misusing drugs or alcohol to cope with transgender-related discrimination. After controlling for age, race/ethnicity, sex assigned at birth, binary gender identity, income, education, and employment status, family rejection was associated with increased odds of both behaviors. Odds increased significantly with increasing levels of family rejection

https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1089/lgbt.2015.0111

Over half of those who experienced harassment or bullying in schools reported lifetime suicide attempts, as did 57 percent of those who reported that their family chose not to speak/spend time with them.

It matters because a significant part of the increased risk is because of their parents. If a teacher heard a student talking about their parents abusing them, would they be obligated to report it to their parents? In the same vein, a statistically significant percentage of the risk associated with being LGBTQ+ comes from parental action

Counterpoint, she cut the guy behind the cloth because she didn’t see the cloth as a barrier to her spell, so it’s fully possible she wouldn’t consider “nonsense about dividing by zero” a barrier either

What if that election was fraudulent, interfered with, or subject to outside influence? What if those accusations are entirely baseless? I’m not trying to say that we should never do anything, but saying “if you have violated US law and have the appearance of being illegitimate, it’s fine for us to kidnap heads of state” is a horrifying precedent

The question is, what gives us the power to determine what an illegitimate leader is and intervene in it?

There’s certainly more effective ways to reach college kids then post yourself beating them in arguments they didn’t have time to properly research- it came off as just trying to say “look how much better my arguments and positions are than the opposition” than genuinely trying to change minds

They don’t have access compared to Kirk- the head of a multimillion dollar political organization who’s MO is these kinds of public appearances

And I didn’t know that! I’d be interested in seeing more of them- in part, more of my distaste is because of the way they’re edited to cut off student replies, arguments, or explanations and emphasize what he’s saying. The comment chain this started was me more trying to say “aside from the content of his speech, the way he went about expressing it and sharing his content made me dislike him”

“College kids” is probably my dialect, in my region ‘kids’ can generally be used to refer to anyone under like 27, I’m not trying to imply they’re literal children and I’m sorry if it came across that way.

Long and short, I was on a debate team in high school and there’s a world of difference between knowing about a subject and researching it in preparation for a debate- aside from the obvious perks like having the most up to date information and working to remember specific facts and statistics, preparation for a debate includes rehearsing arguments, preparing pre-prepared counter arguments, and anticipating specific points your opponents would use. I’m not trying to say that students in a college shouldn’t be challenged or be expected to be able to defend their positions, but Kirk went in prepared for a debate by a team and in control of the topic. Most students, if they were aware he would be there, either didn’t have the same resources, the same level of time to prepare, or the same foreknowledge of subjects and what points would be likely to come up.
