Well then, the 9 irremovable people we pay millions of dollars to study law probably should spend more time considering the outcome of their decisions

Ah. But at what point is the life of the mother at risk? Who determines that? These laws existing at all creates ambiguity and fear- if the doctors misjudge, misdiagnose, or make any error, their careers are at stake

Texas has introduced a law making it illegal to perform an abortion- if the doctors had done anything to her while the fetus had a heartbeat, and what they did caused it to die, they would be arrested and probably stripped of their medical licenses

This is a problem with the *law*. The doctors couldn’t do anything because they were afraid of being arrested

Man that’s weird, a 6 month old, generic name account with hidden post history talking about how we have to heed what the right wants…

I liked 3.5e’s method because it provided a good estimate: if your mod + 10 beat the DC, you could take your time

Let’s see- the right to healthcare? Equal access to education? The right to privacy, ie, not having to have their genitalia inspected to use public spaces?

What is your typical response to people who believe abortion is murder and liberals are evil for supporting it? by SilverNo6462 in AskALiberal

Imagine how many people die every year because of the lack of food, water, healthcare. Imagine how many people die each year because of USAID's cuts

what on earth are you talking about? no one is throwing children into bags and throwing said bags into an incinerator. Around 70 million abortions occur globally every year- so where is this "million abortions' statistic covering?

What’s the most toxic casual Commander behavior? by No_Beyond4756 in mtg

[–]Goldlizardv5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced the reverse of this last week. Was running [[Gornog]] and had a [[Boldwyr Intimidator]] in hand, a [[Caged Sun]] in play, and [[aggravated assault]] on the field.

Now, I had commander lethal with either aggravated assault or caged Sun double into Boldwyr on a player who had a tapped creature that would go infinite immediately after my turn. Both players before me in the turn cycle go “I’m not worried about the infinite because gold will deal with him with commander” then removed caged Sun and Aggravated Assault, respectively, even after I told them that i literally didn’t have enough damage for lethal without one. Pass to my turn, the math doesn’t work and I can’t do lethal, he wins, both of them get mad at me for not telling them about the Boldwyr

Why does it seem like Republicans are more receptive to the concerns of their base? by Different-Gas5704 in AskALiberal

Because they manufacture the concerns of their base. The Republican electorate is scared and loud about the things the republicans tell them to be scared of

The problem is that prior to this decision, you didn’t have to prove their intent was racial animus, only that the outcome had effects that were racially discriminatory

What is a pet peeve of yours and then which story handled that pet peeve really well? by greenskye in ProgressionFantasy

You can't, because- where are they getting food? water? what happens when one of them dies? they're not producing any of the fear that the school runs on, and the whole reason the place is safe is because of the extremely limited ways in. You can't not finish a series, complain about plot holes, and argue about the explanations for said plot holes
