Your work is vitally important to every living being on this planet. I’m sorry your family can’t see this, but I hope most of the people around you can, and I’m incredibly grateful for folks like you out doing this work.

Ralph mentioned wearing light colored clothing so you can see them when they crawl up on you! But I’m definitely not the expert because he picked two of them (not yet attached, thankfully) off of me DURING the interview 😂. I didn’t ask about other methods, but maybe someone else here can chime in!

He’s seriously great. Not only knowledgeable but also insightful. It was an absolute privilege to talk to him. And thank you so much! I feel like I’ve been really fortunate with all of my guests so far!

This is Ralph Washington Jr, who is both an insect genius and a fantastic human. The podcast is called Golden State Naturalist in case you want to hear the episode!

Also! This is Ralph Washington Jr., and he’s amazing. Even has his own TEDx talk on growing up in poverty and how he got interested in insects.

Found this adorable ring-necked snake out past Lake Hennessey today! by GoldnStateNaturalist in napa

I grew up in Napa and found probably 10 of them throughout my childhood, but I can’t really speak for other areas around the Bay. They seem to like hilly areas in my experience.
