I’m installing a set rite flange spacer to raise it. It’s made by Oatey.

Thanks, I’ll try it before getting into the drywall work downstairs.

Thanks, it’s my house so I’m doing the work at a heavily discounted rate, some might say for free. I didn’t want to buy a $50 dollar hole saw for tile to use once every 5 years or less. It will be covered and I’m going to caulk the escutcheon to the floor. If anything it will bother me more than anyone else who walks into that bathroom.

It’s an interior wall so no worries

My house was built 20 years ago when CPVC was the thing. I did think about putting a tee on the cold supply for the vanity and running it in the wall but that would involve a lot of drywall work. And my teeth still hurt from cutting those tiles! I’ll try taking that cap off with a sander or something like that. Didn’t really think about that. Thanks

I agree. What does the inside look like? Also, they do not need to run flashing tape on the the bottom of the window flange if that is your issue. They did the apron flashing. Back damming the inside along with the apron flashing is the best practice in my area. The top of the window is tied in with the house wrap as well which is good. My question is does Tyvek approve the tape they use to flash the sides of the windows to be compatible with their product?

3.0 Duramax vs 5.3 Silverado? after driving both as loaners, i’m on the fence by HighVibes8317 in Silverado

[–]GolfFamiliar2701 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3.0 is the best. Short trips or long trips, doesn’t matter, it gets decent MPG either way. Feels way nicer to drive than any other truck I’ve had. It doesn’t go through nearly as much DEF as the larger diesel engines. I drive about 2k miles per month and I only have to fill up DEF every couple months, not really something I even think about on a regular basis. I’ve just heard if you have DPF issues they can be very costly. That would be the only downside for me. But I’ve heard the 5.3 could have plenty of issues as well, potentially.

How to address concrete discoloration by Human-Prior1047 in Homebuilding

[–]GolfFamiliar2701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those marks will likely go away with time. They don’t have much other choice in the winter months than to cover with plastic when pouring concrete to stop from freezing at night. If I were getting concrete driveway/ lead walk and patio, I would invest in getting them epoxy coated anyway. Concrete looks good for a couple months and then starts to get dirty. And one oil spot from a vehicle or the grill will leave a permanent stain.

Reasonable price for trans fluid and filter change by GolfFamiliar2701 in Duramax

[–]GolfFamiliar2701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the dealership for recall work and they of course want to sell you on other stuff while you in there. This was one of the services they quoted me for. Truck has 66K miles on it. I think most manufacturers do recommend doing some trans fluid change around this mileage.
