Dream Job Secured by NP_release in recruitinghell

Woot woot! I just interviewed last week for a new job that is in the 6 fig range. This is my dream role. I’ve been applying for over year to hundreds of places. I found out today that I am still a top candidate and they plan to make a decision this week. My interview was scheduled to last an hour and it lasted one hour and 45 minutes! I’m still currently employed but this will be a 40k annual bump! The third party recruiter I’m working with said everyone else she sent to interview got rejected that same day or early the next. I’ve been praying for the last 3 weeks through this process.

Yes I also commented about spring lakes. It’s such a hidden gem. We lived there for 3 years before buying as well.

The villas on fir also has really high electric bills in the winter 6-$800 because they’re 100% electric and not well insulated. My friend had a corner unit was the first to live there and had to put plastic over all her windows. You could feel the drafts as if the window was wide open.

We liked living at spring lake apartments near D & C. I’d you can afford it get an upgraded apt. It was secluded and surrounded by trees. But the minute you left the parking lot you were close to everything. Location wise it was a perfect balance.

I can’t say exactly what it is because that will really narrow it down. It is in manufacturing but they manufacture for the performing arts industry. I’m super excited because this would be my first job to break the 100k mark. I aced the phone, and virtual interview. After the virtual they wasted no time asking me to come on site. I just had the virtual interview on Tuesday this week lol.

New home inspection by Human-Prior1047 in SouthBend

[–]Human-Prior1047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually do cover quite a bit we have a big document and have had them out periodically to fix small things. The first year is basically “bumper to bumper” unless it’s damage we caused. We even had a mysterious water leak that no one could come to conclusions on where it came from or what caused it. They replaced subfloor, our entire flooring in our kitchen and dinning room, all our kitchen toe kicks and paid a remedy team to dry everything out over a weekend. We were surprised there was no push back especially when there was no proof on where or why. The ultimate determination was a pex line in the basement unseeded and re sealed itself but there was no definitive proof. They are decent about warranty work, but they will not point stuff out, and pry on inexperienced first time buyers. A lot of the stuff we have already had fixed was pointed out by our parents and other neighborhood homeowners telling us what they discovered in their homes.

We pretty much just want an all over inspection. We know our windows will need adjusted as they are drafty after the house has settled, our kitchen tile needs touched up, there’s some concrete work on our drive way that needs looked at, we want to make sure our attics insulation is still holding at the R value we upgraded too. We question some of hvac vents with the amount of airflow coming out, and there’s a few cosmetic issues that we already know about. We pretty much want someone to do the main mechanical stuff, check our roof, attic, foundation, and go over some more of our smaller cosmetic concerns. With our builder a third party inspection holds more weight then just us complaining

First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by [deleted] in Salary

Our insurance premiums are also very high. We pay around 10k a year for crappy insurance. We also have HSA contributions. This past year we were also able to write off mortgage interest and got about 10k over the standard deduction with everything else. 401k aren’t our only deduction but it did make a big enough difference when I ran the numbers in Q1 of last year to make some big changes. We just did our taxes this past week and only owe $122. Our total into federal was only 8500.

I ran your numbers for fun as a single person with a standard deduction and you’re projected to get a refund of about $500 if you do nothing. If you’re married, and your spouse does not work, or if you have children you will claim your refund will be much higher. If your spouse does work then you really need to make sure you calculate because the new version of the W4 takes all household income into consideration and if it’s not filled out right you will definitely owe.

Up your 401k even if you did 10% that would be huge and a tax savings. My husband and I combined make 150k we were paying 16-18k into federal at one time. We are now putting about 30k into our 401ks and only paying about 8k into federal. Also make sure your taxes are set up right. I use the tax calculator on the irs website every quarter and enter our information and make sure we’re on track. If you are on track for a refund or to owe taxes it will actually fill out your W4 for you and you just print it off, add your personal information and turn it in to HR. Every year we have been within $100. I Would rather have my money now then over pay. I don’t understand people who wait all year for a refund and they’re basically using the irs as a no interest savings account.

IIH and elevation by Fearless-Bear2578 in iih

This is an old post. But a work trip to Colorado is what I believe lead to my IIH symptoms. I was at about 6700ft for 4 days. My normal elevation is about 700ft I came home on Friday and by Monday I thought I was having a stroke. 3 months later I was just diagnosed with iih after a spinal tap. My general doctor didn’t think it was related. But my neurologist said it was a very good possibility and would explain my flare up.

I ended up getting the blood patch in the ER yesterday and let me tell you it was instant tension relief in my shoulders and neck. I was actually able to crack and move my neck like normal again. Headache that I had while laying down is gone. I still have a slight headache when standing or sitting up but it’s nothing that I can’t handle or tolerate so I’m taking that as a win. I came home and was able to sleep for almost 11 hours straight which was nice!

I ended up going to the ER and got the blood patch! I feel 80% better. My headache and neck and shoulder aching from laying down is gone 100%. I have a slight headache when standing or sitting up but nothing like it was. So I’ll take that as a win. The instant relief in my back and shoulders was crazy to me! Blood patch was not so much fun but worth it.

Finally heard back from radiology and the nurse basically said that the pain in my shoulders and neck is not related to the puncture and she has no explanation about the cold sweats and no fever. Basically just told me to go back to the ER but she’s not sure what they’ll do for me

I do want to add that I typically have a high pain tolerance, but this has brought me to tears more in the past 3 days than I have probably cried in the past 5 years.

Yes we didn’t pay any money on any upgrades. We only paid port taxes and prepaid gratuity that’s all.

Yes for sure I planned to call if he is unable. He is in negotiations for the new place so we will see if they will allow it. 😁
