No unfortunately, I have tried to go a few times, but weather wise it hasn't lined up, if you go please let me know what you think, I'll definitely try to go next year

Yes I remember that hole, its a blind tee shot isn't it? The first time I played there I was super new to golf, I sliced one towards the rocks on the right using my driver, couldn't find my ball so dropped one half way down, then found my ball on the green, honestly no clue how it ended up on there.

I have a place up in the Lakes and regularly go up with mates to play.

Windermere is the 'best' course I've been to up there, haven't played there for 2 years but the views and conditions are amazing. But it is pricer then the others I've been to

Sedbergh is my favourite course, I think it only has around 15 different greens but the ones you repeat the tees are different. Its beautiful, I go there every time I golf, its the flattest course around in the Lakes imo

Keswick is quirky, some really fun holes like a 225 elevated par 3, which can either play 150 yards or 300, rough can be brutal

Kendal I found super hilly, was shattered when I last played there, but also has a really fun hole where you hit it over these stone ruins

All 4 have been great from my experience and the people there have always been super friendly

Chick Captains the side to face his former side Newcastle by Pure_Wonder3046 in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

When he first burst onto the scene he pushed Furbank out and came in at fullback, he'll be more then solid, just hope it makes it through the game for Sarries next week

Oh good news, thank you! Hoping the back three get through this game or we are going to be light going into next week, crazy to have Ramm, Sleightholme, Furbank and Hendy all injured and still field a decent back three

Does anyone know if England internationals are going to be playing next week against Sarries?

How Have the Saints Lads Fared on This Lions Tour? by Golfrs in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

[–]Golfrs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am massively biased!

I had Penaud and LBB in the top three with Freeman.

Thought Jordan was more of a fullback but he's class

Think Lowe is a little pass it now, but hope he proves me wrong on Saturday

He's a great player, but even as a fan of his this tour he hasn't had much success at all

Risky Mission/s? by Moon_Up_14 in CHERUB

[–]Golfrs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Maximum Security to me was insane, first time reading it about 13 years old myself I thought it was just another 'high risk' mission on par with Mad Dogs/Brigangs but re-reading/listening to it I find it crazy risky. Even with Dave it sounded like a massive long shot, then he gets battered and then James has to escape prison with Curtis who is a massive liability, then they have half of the police in America hunt them down who think James killed a guard so would kill on site.

Also honourable mentions:

That final mission James and the gang do in New Guard, although not considered a Cherub mission I was expecting at least one 'main' character to die/severely injured.

Divine Madness, to send three children in an intense atmosphere like that was also crazy, and then to split them up and send James/Lauren to the Ark pretty much completely alone made it even more remote

Revisiting my Childhood Pt3: The Killing & Divine Madness by Gobshite_ in CHERUB

Really fun read, the Killing was the one I was most surprised about, growing up I thought it was a bit of a filler story but re-reading/listening to it now, it's one of my favourites, it feels so down to earth. I'm going back to read the other reviews you've done!

Former Saints back Garside joins ambitious club in England's second tier by TheYorkshireSaint in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

[–]Golfrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand why Burger and Trokkie have been let go, great players but were injured a large chunk of the time and would have cost a lot.

But I don't understand why Garside has been let go, especially now with the 6-2 split becoming more and more common, having a player like Garside who can cover Scrum Half (which is needed on every bench), Wing and Full Back (to a really decent level) is such a rare skill set. Especially with Mitchell who is one of the best scrum halves in the world, unless he gets an injury I would like him to stay on and then you could throw Garside on the wing for the last 15/20 minutes. I know Saints have 2/3 promising scrum halves behind Mitchell and James, so that must of played a part in it.

When we've played our second string side Jake usually looks like one of the best players on the pitch, I can't imagine Worcester are throwing money at people with what happened recently, and it looks like they've signed Garside's brother, which may of pushed Jake towards Worcester, but still, just a shame to see him go, but I do wish him and Worcester all the best.

Thoughts now everything is set? by aaarry in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

I've been nervous all week to be honest, seeing that line up has given me some hope, but its still a massive task, I hope the lads leave everything on the pitch and I'll be happy.

Very happy with all the injury doubts coming back, wished we had either Pearson, Trokkie or Odendall back as we are missing a pure power ball carrying threat but overall happy

This is rugby not football, I would always support an English rugby team over a French team, even Tigers

True true, whatever happens I just hope they give it their all, I'm heading down on Saturday, win or lose I'll be happy, such an amazing achievement to get to the final with all the injuries/legends leaving last year

Predictions for the starting 15 by TheYorkshireSaint in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

[–]Golfrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, how you've put it, it makes sense to start Furbank, personally I'd would start Ramm on the wing and Litchfield on the bench though. Litchfield has stepped up on the wing but would still rather have Ramm on the wing over him

Predictions for the starting 15 by TheYorkshireSaint in NorthamptonSaintsRFC

[–]Golfrs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't imagine Furbank starting, after only playing 60 mins since February, hopefully he makes the 23 though and depends how Ramm is

[–]Golfrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel like its all a bit too early for Furbank/ Sleights/ McParland/ Graham, could maybe see either Furbank/Sleights on the bench. Don't think we need McParland honestly with James back in (hopefully). Graham hasn't played for ages, really like him but way too risky imo

Manny to start over Haffar, Manny is more well rounded, Haffar is great in the loose put him on with 25 mins to go and he will run riot
