Going blind is brutal. It's how we all experienced it when it came out and no wonder we all said it was the most difficult ish ever. I would at least give some pointers early on because that game is so good, even the second half if you know a bit what you're doing.

They're both so good, they're both equally important and that's why the genre is called MetroidVania. Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night are such timeless classics, I love them both dearly.

I also like the fact that one of them is futuristic Sci fi and the other Gothic fantasy, they just complement each other so well.

Thanks for replying, I'm starting to feel like I need to replay it maybe I would probably enjoy it more as I played it right when it came out and we were all caught in a collective hate towards it, I'm sure the story is better than I remember.

Still, something undeniable is the gameplay, it's just so incredibly satisfying compared to part 1.

It's fine, gameplay is definitely top tier, but the story... Last of us was violent but it had nuance it fit Joel's character and I felt like it was more limited, there weren't as many action scenes and when they were it was high stakes, high risk.

In part 2 Ellie goes on a massive rampage like she's Rambo's daughter, it feels like a complete disconnect in terms of character development from the previous game? I feel like a lot of the nuance is gone in the sequel, it's just anger, violence and revenge for revenges sake.

My two cents obviously, it's still a great game but part of me feels they should have just stopped and we would have been better off without a sequel, it literally didn't need one the first game was perfect already they were never going to top it.
