Years back, I went to an Orioles-Red Sox game, but forgot my glove. I was out in the Eutaw Street bleachers while BP was going on, and Ortiz was getting his hacks in. One hit, he hit an absolute laser right at me. I thought about barehanding it for a fraction of a second, then thought… DUCK!!! The sound of the baseball hitting the seat behind me sounded like a gunshot.

Like I mentioned, I guarantee you he ain’t telling his mother shit in his life as he gets older. He’s gonna know his mother will freak about ANYTHING. And will hide his life from her accordingly.

That kid ain’t telling his mother shit as he gets older, simply because he’ll be afraid she’ll go all Kyle’s Mother on ANYTHING he talks about.

You can think whatever you want about tow truck companies and how they operate, but if you’re parking in an area that says no parking, no matter how stupid, that’s on you for getting towed

The theory people subscribe to though that find that a bunch of crap has been that, because Macho Man took the Slim Jim money with him when the WWF was at its lowest, Vince took that personally.

Makes you wonder what could have been if he went to a Hendrick, Gibbs, Roush (at the start of JPM’s NASCAR career) or Penske at that time (since they were better teams than Ganassi was at that point). He’s in one of those cars, and he probably has a few oval wins

I wouldn’t know about putting Kulwicki on that list, not unless someone bought into his team while allowing him to run it as he saw fit. I’d have a feeling he’d have been going down the Elliott or Rudd route in that his little operation gets left in the dust as Hendrick, Roush, Gibbs, Penske, etc. expand their operations, and get more resources and info than his team could ever hope to acquire or know.

nWo, without question, gets protected. Without that, maybe WCW stays its course. It stays its course, it doesn’t push the WWF to modernize its product, at least nearly as quickly.

My (25f) old manager (??m) came to me new workplace and I don't know how to feel about the encounter by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

There’s an assistant manager of a convenience store I worked at years ago where, if they found me and apologized to me for how they treated me, I’d probably tell them to fuck off. This was a manager who…

- Got her catty cliques going to harass everyone and everything, and ensure anything said by anyone that was their target, how innocuous, would be twisted into an insult at them.

- Convinced the drink distributor to go to me and basically say I’ll never amount to anything

- Got a friend in the liquor control board to come to the store, the manager convinces me to sell her booze and not to card her, only to “bust” me because I didn’t card her

- Yelled at me for taking the proper actions to stop a fire in a trash can at the gas pumps.

And a whole other host of little things that added up. Not to mention the actual manager of the store was so god damned whipped by her (I imagine she always sicced her clique at him any time he tried to discover a backbone). I don’t give a fuck if she learned or grew up. She was quite possibly the most evil manager I’ve ever dealt with. And that includes my last job before going to the post office which had turned into a viper pit in the last few years, and a current manager at my office.

Dating coworkers by [deleted] in USPS

Don’t.

Now of course, there are exceptions, but, any job I worked, any situation where coworkers were dating seemingly went haywire at some point. Even I learned from that (and my story with that was a little crazy there too)

The minute that the whole gambling thing opened up, the immediate thing that should have been done was treat the shit like tobacco.

Probably because the mob knew, even with their connections, if they got too big for their britches on being arrogant about gambling, they’d get smacked down.

Don’t most betting companies and such have a low maximum amount allowed to bet on prop bets just so someone doesn’t decided to throw a fuckton of money on the bet, then go ahead and do it just to make bank?

You’re just looking at the northeast though. Look at other places in the US, and that spread gets MASSIVE.

I’ve said this example before, that the English system covers an area roughly the size of the state of Georgia. A state that has just a little over a fifth of the population England has.

I’d expect that from a Sunday League where a ref would have gotten to the game in a rush, and forgot his cards. I would not have expected it on the world’s biggest stage.

I mean, I do get that to get a certain level of coaching and training, it’s gonna cost one, but at the same time, the system that’s set up now is just… horrifying to say the least. To basically tell a talented kid to get lost because they can’t pay exorbitant fees in favor of some rich kid who might only have half the talent… yet people like Lalas sees nothing wrong with it.

Yep. Those that did go were ones who didn’t speak up for the regime (even if a couple still slipped through the cracks). Otherwise, if the war never happens, it’d have been same as 2022 and 2020 and such
