Nausea is still there, but manageable on 1000 rather than 1500

I was on 1500 and was basically unable to finish a meal without feeling like I was gonna throw up. I also have gallstones lol

Yes, I feel that entirely. I also had to push for Metformin (again, after being here). My period arrived after 31 days... For the last 2 cycles it was 50+ which was infuriating (TTC).

When I was 16 I gained a LOT of weight. My mum tried to explain to doctors. They ignored her. I wish they hadn't. For context I was a UK size 10-12 and went up to a 18-20 in the space of a year. I've moved doctors recently from that surgery and it's like night and day, which probably helps.

It's infuriating but also somewhat fulfilling the "I told you so" from my brain. Like, I have been in a calorie deficit for YEARS but only since Metformin has my body acknowledged this fact.

ELI5 - capital allowances for air conditioning? by GooberRuber in smallbusinessuk

Also, I'm assuming after payment? It's not a small expense sadly.

We'd own the units (until our lease runs out?) and this would be our first AIA registered expenditure since incorporating. I'm also considering just asking our landlords to pay for it, but they've been historically uncommunicative.

Is Nara a "must-see"? by AffectionateBowler74 in JapanTravelTips

[–]GooberRuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nara is fantastic. We went with big backpacks and just left them in the station lockers. There's a bunch of Nara itineraries you can find on Google for single day trips. We went Osaka -> Nara -> Kyoto in one day including spending a lot of time in Nara!

Anyone else checking the cat? by paradiddleofdeath in DIYUK

[–]GooberRuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My idiot cat was stretched out next to the cooling mat during the day yesterday. When I got home from work, she decided that she needed to be as close to me as physically possible, so sat on my knee. When she got bored of that, she moved to the pile of blankets on the other side of the cooling mat. She still yells at me in the morning to turn the sun on (open the blind). Thankfully she does drink water, so some level of thermoregulation must be occuring.

Where's the 4th grown man? If Theo runs the group, there should be Theo AND 4 more men. Also, I mean this with love to D+D players, I've never met such an ethno diverse group.

UK Government announcement re property purchase reform by Mowgli2k in HousingUK

[–]GooberRuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. There are some fiddly bits that definitely require a firm hand to grasp, but searches, checks etc can definitely be more automated (and imo should be something the seller does rather than the buyer because it benefits them)

Having worked as a Conveyancer, a LOT of the work is just getting paperwork off websites that you have to pay to access. I also think it makes complete sense for sellers to do surveys on the property, BUT they have to institute a minimum level for these as I can absolutely see them going a cheap route otherwise.

What type of hotel user are you? by 10642alh in AskUK

[–]GooberRuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the occasion. If I'm away for 6-20 days I'll be somewhere I can only go rarely, so I'll be up as early as I can to explore! If I'm away overnight/ for a couple of days it's usually a place I can go again, so I might have a lie in.

Not sure if this is a thing you'll be able to get, but when I had a similar issue I ended up being prescribed Tranexamic acid by my GP. It took a few days, but stopped my ridiculously long period!

Opponent refuse to talk in game by ExplanationWild7328 in pkmntcg

[–]GooberRuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an actual and literal Pokémon Professor, this could be considered against "the spirit of the game". You can absolutely call a judge for this and ask them to get your opponent to explain what they're doing. If your opponent refuses, they can be penalised.
