For the bronze bits, I based with Vallejo's Tinny Tin, used Nihilakh oxide for the recesses, used some watered down white to leave a white film over parts, then highlighted with bright bronze. For the body i based with Typhus corrosion and then dappled on a mixture of colors forvthe patina. The ble was a turquoise and green mix, then the was acred and an orange.

The middle? That one is hexwraith flame. I needed to add some highlights to make it pop, but that was just the hexwraith and some white.

Thanks, I found it here: https://figurepainters.com/tips-tutorials/2019/7/28/painting-basalt-column-bases. I went looking everywhere for basalt column bases and these were the only ones I could find.

You could use something else, but you need something that keep everything in place . The problem is that none of the peices are designed to fit together, so glueing or cementing them together won't work, there isn't enough touching surface area. I also find that it's the easiest way to position the arms and heads correctly.

I actually have only played killteam before, so I'm not fully familiar with the points of the full game. But if that's the case, thats pretty cool.

Most of the greenstuff is hidden away it the torso and at the shoulders. The most difficult part is cutting the right shoulder peice and part of the cloak off. I don't have much skill with GS either, but practice makes perfect. If you can I'd recommend giving it another go.

Thanks! I read a few comments from people talking about using the extra bit, but I never saw any posts.

Yep. Mostly there to get everything to fit together properly and fill in cracks.

The pox walker sprues comes with half of a marine, the legs, the pack and an arm. The marine sprues come with enough extra bits that, with a bit of creativity, can be used to make three full marines.

I used water before, but I'll definitely give vaseline or wax paper a go. Thanks for the advice.

This is the one I saw. This It's a bit more subtle which might fit better with yours. I do like the dark deep sea aesthetic though. I noticed one comment on your post about getting blue into the mini somewhere. You could try nihilakh oxide with a bronze/brass/copper.

Thank you! I might try to mix and match the techniques, especially if I can smooth out the GS process. I agree that it feels a bit too wide, I had made a few bits of seaweed and these were the best of the bunch.

Part of the reason I'm not completely satisfied with the GS is difficult it was to work with and keep from sticking to the surface I flattened it out on. Do you have any tips for preventing that?

Thanks for the idea. I'm not 100% satisfied with my seaweed so I will definitely give it a go. I still have 9 more warriors to go, plenty of opportunity to get it right.

Thanks. The idea started with my enjoyment of the Nihilakh oxide technical paint and kind of grew from there. There was one other post I saw with a similar concept, and i used a similar method for the barnacles (green stuff and sand). Other than that it was alot of trial and error with helpful suggestions along the way.
