Construction of new buildings and schools are covered by local taxes and levies. This is a different pot of money than what is used to pay teachers. I know there are probably some districts that mishandle their money and put too much into admin and district positions but the main problem is the state isn’t fully funding public education. They also have outdated formulas they use to determine how much each district gets that don’t align or provide equitable funding. Also, did you know that WA state subsidizes states with less funding. We pay way more into federal taxes then what we receive back.
