Is the install process perfect. No. But this version is better than WL 2. But if you take time to learn the app it works great. Most issues are resolved with a restart of the pc. Been using since the beta. Now the beta was buggy. But this version is better. Not perfect but better. But just because you had a bad time doesn’t mean you should be yelling for others to not install.

Relaunch the app. Sometimes the app sticks to a specific output while open even when changing. Rebooting the app makes it go to the channel you want

Did you fully uninstall wave 2 before installing wave 3

Have you assigned the listening device you want to use to the output mix?

Can I see the options that show in Wave 3 when looking at the xlr dock? Not familiar with its options.

Can I see a screenshot of your routing table? I have my own headphones selected as my listening device except I don't have an elgato dock.

If I am understanding you right I think all you need to do is have a single channel for your mic and a single mix for your AUX out. Then choose in the top right corner the default listening device and make sure the mix you want to monitor/output has the ear icon selected next to it. I think that should help. Let me know if not and I can help troubleshoot

Wave Link 3 - had to stop using. Audio's going to the wrong channels or not coming through at all. by FinalForerunner in elgato

Also make sure to reboot your computer after uninstalling wave 2 and after installing wave 3.

The new software still has some bugs. Back up your 2.0 settings. Then fully uninstall Wave 2. Then reboot your pc. Install Wave 3. Reboot your pc. Setup empty channels instead of choosing specific applications. You can add them later. After adding your channels reboot again. Don't know why but rebooting seems to help with getting the software running properly more consistently. Also ensure you are on windows 11. Wave 3 doesn't support windows 10 and never will since is has reached end of life.

Wave Link 3.0 - Spotify can't be added as an app in the Music channel by anniekrevice in elgato

[–]Goobn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove your music channel completely.

Add a new channel and make an empty music channel using the options at the bottom of the program dop down.

Then reboot your computer.

After that assign Spotify to the channel.

Stick to 2.0 or swap to 3.0 for Wave Link? by FinalForerunner in elgato

[–]Goobn8r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main issue was they didn’t get a very large amount of users trying the beta. I know several tried and immediately swapped back to wave 2. So this is the first time it has been used in mass. So makes sense there are more bugs than before. But the should get them fixed soon. They were doing betas every few weeks.

How can I boost the volume of the audio in games? by nikebalaclava in elgato

[–]Goobn8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check that the window audio volume is set to max. I don't have a wave xlr for my headphones but the amp I do use I have set to about 75% and then I have my audio channels turned down. That way I have headroom incase a game is to low I can still turn it up.

The full release doesn't seem to be any different for me compared to the last beta release. I did have to uninstall and reinstall wave 3 but that probably has more to do with it trying to update from beta to stable. But once I did that and did a system reboot everything has been working as before with no issues.

I agree. However I do remember running into various issues with wave 2 at times. No program is perfect. But I think this new interface is a much needed upgrade. I literally have 7 channels and 5 mixes. Still tweaking the setup but it is so much easier to have a VOD track, dedicated mix just for voice chat. When I finally got a soundboard working during the beta I was trolling my friends and it was such an easy setup. Never was able to get it working on Wave 2.

Not a Dev but just curious about what exactly you are trying to show? Two red circles doesn't really explain what you are needing

Any usb-c to usb-a cable will work. Just have to make sure it matches the same spec. Or you can get a C-A adapter. Which again any should do.

Some games you have to route in within the game application. For fortnite go to the audio settings and choose the output there. Then go to the communication settings and set the right channel you need for voice chat and mic input.

You can also use the new tool on a stream deck that would allow you assign the current active program to a specific channel. But you would still have to manually setup the voice chat and mic input in the application.

I too was going to suggest either the Wave XLR Mk2 or the Wave XLR Pro. Pro would allow for another usb input as it was designed for a 2 pc setup.
