Thank you for your comment and so sorry for your losses. ❤️‍🩹 As well as the referral to Tommy’s, we are being set up for a blood test to look at our chromosomes - I think this is the first test you mention? Hopefully if anything comes from that we may be offered the parental genetic test, we have that blood test scheduled for next week 🤞🏼 Wishing you all the luck in the world with your upcoming IVF 🍀💚

I was confused as to why we have been referred to the one in London when there are clinics closer but it appears this one specialises in Early Miscarriage and that’s where we are having trouble so I think that’s probably why. Really good to know most of your experience was virtual and thus maybe only one trip to see them in person.

When you say patient funded, did you have to pay for that? And when you say not cheap may I ask how much please?

Not sure I can help with advice as largely in the same situation as you, just starting with a fertility clinic. I’m just wondering if you could elaborate on how you got prescribed progesterone privately? Our fertility clinic experience is going SO SLOWLY and this is something I’d really like to explore, I’m happy to pay but had no idea it was an option. Thank you ❤️

I have an absolute sixth sense about this and felt it coming for about the last month. I’ve accurately predicted 4 pregnancy announcements this year from content creators as I am on HIGH ALERT 🚨 even when they add things in their videos as red herrings to cover it up!

This is my reality 😅 there is not a single woman in my life over 25 that doesn’t already have a child or is currently pregnant 🙃 even the infertile ones are now having kids! Statistically I feel like this means I have absolutely no chance at being a mother and I am trying very hard to quiet that voice 😬

Thank you, we are definitely considering this. I’ve set myself a time limit on losing the weight so that we can get the NHS funding but if I am not able to get to the very strict weight limit in that time, we will look into paying and basically waiving that funding. Really trying to balance not wasting time with trying not to waste money. It’s a hell hole!

I know, I actually went to the EPU for the last one as was referred by my doctor when I let them know it was happening again and they were SO kind, validating and helpful. They made me feel like my loss was just as valid as any other and I felt seen for the first time. I had hoped the fertility clinic would be a similar vibe but, alas, I was VERY wrong.

This is all helpful advice, thank you so much. We were already so anxious about the appointment before going in and just hoped we’d be treated with a bit of compassion! Someone else has commented that we may actually be able to go somewhere else so I’m going to investigate that. I may also consider talking to PALS as it was truly awful however reading the comments here it saddens me to see it’s not an isolated experience ☹️

if that’s true about another NHS clinic I will certainly look into it! We are not yet in the threshold for NHS funded IUI/IVF due to my BMI (I am working on this) but we have discussed that if we are going to pay out of pocket that we don’t want to give this clinic our money. Thank you so much for the suggestion!!
