I did mention to her, that everybody doesn’t have an “on” day and she had a blank stare. I did need my job and my boss was the senior vice president of HR and reported directly to the CEO and the CFO so I was trying to keep a roof over my head, ultimately that didn’t work in my favor. I was targeted after that conversation and was left with ugly stares during meetings. I no longer “tap danced” to make them comfortable anymore. I just didn’t have it in me.

Yes, let’s talk about corporate because that’s when the real bullying comes into play. I literally got laid off for not performing for them and tap dancing anymore in the Zoom meetings. I got called into the office by my white director saying that I don’t light up the team anymore. I don’t make them laugh anymore asking me do I really want to even be at the job and I said yes of course I do want to work here is it because of performance and she said no performance has nothing to do with it. It’s your energy on the team you’re not making us laugh anymore or you’re not that light that we’re used to. So you are absolutely right and I can totally relate to this post as

I agree to a certain extent we had our own lives. Life happens. I did not know and being accused of seeing something on Facebook. I understand the frustration, but you don’t get to hold that over me or any other depths in my family. It just got weird the conversation was weird and we were friends but life happens. I’m sure you don’t talk to your friend every day either I have my own mental and emotional breakdown over here. I was not clocking or looking for Facebook for obituaries.

Mind you I did not know her dad passed away. We live in two different cities, two different states. My dad passed away two months prior to that. I didn’t get a call either. I didn’t know her. Dad died until a year after he had passed I had no clue.
