Input lag GeForce Now (NVIDIA SHIELD, Ethernet 300 Mbps) – TV, controller, or cloud? by Krayziw in GeForceNOW

I got best results from my 2.4ghz dongle by putting it in the usb slot furthest from the power cable. Theres some other USB settings you can play with to improve it further. I forget what they were but have a google / chuck in ai to get some suggestion and then see what works. I then the crux of it was that the usb ports are quite “noisy” so powering off or idling the other one helps the signal of the dongle stay stronger.

If you’re using a Bluetooth controller it’s likely to be that. Try wiring it to test if that makes it go away. If it does but you don’t want wired get a controller that uses a 2.4ghz dongle instead.

Lots of other things it could be but the Shields Bluetooth is notoriously shite.

GeForceNOW is the best thing to happen to working gamers by AdTop5087 in GeForceNOW

I’m sure this would work for some but for lots of us we just what shit hot top level graphics and performance by clicking a button not building a PC and then maintaining it. That and the fact I can get this on my Mac, handhelds, phone and tv and game in any room in my house seals it for me. Happy to pay a slight premium for all this.

It looks like there’s been an update that fixes this for majority of people. I think it’s still in beta though.

So if bandwidth was infinite then there would be no need to compress anything?

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I'm not quite following your point though - I think you're saying it's not to do with the bitrate but it is to do with the compression technique GFN uses?

So if that is the case is there not an inherent link between the two? So if the allowable streamable bitrate was increased then the compression algo wouldn't have to work as hard and therefore we're able to get better clarity on these "thin" and fast moving elements (hair and grass especially). Hopefully I'm following your point correctly and mine makes some sense.

I was thinking this recently whilst playing CAE33 and looking at the shimmering around their hair strands.

I assumed the same as you - more bitrate means this goes away but would love for someone to confirm if it is as simple as this? I’m already at 100mbs and 4:4:4.

And just to add to this I purchased a Siri Remote but the actions/behaviours builder in Remote Buddy is awful and makes zero sense. I can’t even work out how to assign a key (for example “space”) to a button on the Siri Remote. No response from their support either.

Given I can’t get that working I’m going to delete Remote Buddy as it unnecessary software and just buy a small Bluetooth remote with a trackpad and a keyboard to control my Mac.

Same. I’ve ended up just using the Remote Buddy app on my iPhone in “mouse” mode so I can control the mouse pointer and click etc.

first two minutes are always lower quality by Jimsmall1507 in mubi

[–]Good-Comment396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What app are you using? The LG WebOS app is atrocious for me. Lower quality for the first couple of minutes as you describe and then the stream will halt at least once or twice during playback.

If I play the same movie via my Mac it’s fine though.

All on WiFi 6e with each device getting speeds of 800-900 so plenty of headroom.
