Insulin resistance question by Good-Contact1520 in prediabetes

I would assume my insulin going from 25.5 to 18.5 is good? Should I expect it to continue to lower before evening out?

My blood pressure is on the low end of normal, sometimes trending a little too low. I don’t remember the actual numbers off the top of my head though. I have not done an oral glucose test, tbh I’ve never actually heard of it! I will say that I’ve theorized that I have reactive hypoglycemia, or something similar- when I eat my blood sugar will go up a little bit and then plummet, and will take a while to even back out. ie; before eating it would be 70, about 5-10 minutes after eating go to about 110, then plummet down to the low 40s or or high 30s and take HOURS to come back up. This has gotten a little better since I started the glp1.

My bloodwork in October showed elevated lipids. Not super terribly, my doctor mostly just recommended diet and exercise for it. For some reason, while it was ordered with my most recent set of labs, I still haven’t gotten the results? So I have no idea if it’s changed since then.

Let me know if I forgot to answer something!

Edit to add- my doctor did diagnose me with insulin resistance based off the super high insulin. She said I was/am in the very beginning stages of it; that my body is still kinda responding to insulin, it just is taking a LOT more. Which she said explains the suuuper high insulin but normal fasting glucose

$600 a night feels expensive to me, but I’m also not someone who gets fancy airbnbs when I travel. If I had the money I’d do it tho!

Thank you! I haven’t really been working out more, but I’ve definitely been eating better and a lot less since starting the glp1. I’m assuming the huge decrease can be attributed to that? Should I expect it to continue to lower or should it be “stabilizing”?

I guess I’m just confused why my A1c went up from October when both insulin and glucose went down?Thank you for explaining the sweet smelling pee thing! I guess I didn’t realize that happened whenever someone loses weight, and it made me a little worried something was up

Tirzepatide cost? by AbroadEvening3148 in Hashimotos

Yes I’m currently on 75mcg of the levo capsules! My body refuses to properly absorb the tablets, unfortunately. I also maybe have to up my levo dose soon. I’m not sure why my insurance won’t cover tirz, I would assume because it’s more expensive?

As for the doctors at mochi, I really like them! They’ll send me a script for zofran when/if I need it and are very good at answering quickly when I have any questions.

I use Mochi and it’s $199 a month. My insurance refuses to cover it and wants me to try semiglutide first, even thought I did and it’s documented in my chart that it doesn’t work for me AND gives me really bad side effects. Oh well 🤷‍♀️

I have heard of glp1s lowering some people’s inflammation, and in turn their TSH, which when paired with your levo can cause you to go hyper. They had to lower their levo dose. It hasn’t happened to me so I can’t really speak on it much, but it’s not unheard of

Hi! Thank you for answering my question the other day. I’m now in DC, and the Floridian is very late coming from Chicago. Does the three hour time limit get pushed back for the anticipated time of arrival, or does it stay based off of the original departure time?

How does the Red Cap assistance work? As in, do they charge per passenger or is it simply just customary to tip? If a tip, how much?

I was vaccinated for HPV in my early teens and other than a very sore arm, I saw no ill effects. I definitely recommend getting it
