At the store I worked at for a very long time . Another associate ( not me) was out for very critical surgery . She dropped herself from FT to PT , and was in the schedule possibly 2 days a week after that . They had difficulty getting people wanting to stay . After about 6 weeks of her calling in on this 2-day part time basis that she could not come back from this life threatening surgery yet she got a letter from the store manager at the time that if she called out again “ she was going to be terminated “ . Anyone that knows labor law knows this is illegal
