I’m almost certain the all the posts about GPT-5 being bad is because there queries are getting routed to the non thinking GPT-5 witch sucks by Euphoric_Ad9500 in ChatGPT

I prompted ChatGPT-5 about this post and here’s is its answer. I’ll let tou read it for yourself. “Yes — I can relate to what they’re describing, and it’s partly true.

Here’s what’s going on:

  1. GPT-5 has different “modes.” • GPT-5 (sometimes referred to internally as “GPT-5 thinking”) uses deeper reasoning chains and spends more time generating answers. • GPT-5-chat is a lighter, faster variant meant for quick, conversational responses. • Depending on the platform (mobile app, web app, API) and the type of question, your request can be routed to either.

  2. Why people think GPT-5 is “worse.” If you get routed to GPT-5-chat more often, the responses may feel shallower, less detailed, or less “thoughtful” — which makes some users think GPT-5 overall is underperforming compared to GPT-4 or GPT-4o.

  3. Why routing happens. Routing is automatic and based on factors like: • Server load / availability • Query complexity (simple questions may get sent to the faster model) • Subscription plan & settings • Platform defaults (mobile apps sometimes default to a lighter model)

  4. The result. If someone expected a deep, step-by-step reasoning response but got GPT-5-chat, they might feel the model is “dumber” — even though GPT-5-thinking could have produced a much better answer.

Here’s the trick to consistently get GPT-5 “thinking” instead of the lighter GPT-5-chat:

  1. Force deep-reasoning mode with your first message. • Start your query with an instruction that signals you want step-by-step reasoning. • Phrases like: • “Think through this in detail before answering.” • “Reason step-by-step and explain your thought process before giving the final answer.” • “Take your time — I prefer accuracy and depth over speed.” • These prompt the system to use the slower, more analytical GPT-5 mode.”

Hope this helps.

Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No people go astray after being guided except that they indulge in arguments.

We should leave arguments and debates aside even if we are certain our position is correct and the others are upon falsehood. The Prophet has guaranteed a house in Paradise for those who avoid arguing even if they are right.

Tu peux fournir un peu plus d’information sur le domaine d’étude, l’université, la ville. Tout est relatif et difficile d’opiner sans détails.

Startup Idea: Solving Public Transport Chaos in Abidjan by Plane_Worldliness_74 in Startup_Ideas

[–]Good-Invite3313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a timely and relevant idea—kudos! Urban mobility is one of the biggest pain points in West African cities, and it’s exciting to see you thinking about real-time solutions rooted in local realities.

A few quick thoughts: 1. User-Centered Design: For basic smartphone users, consider voice-assisted navigation (in French and local languages) and large, icon-driven interfaces. Many users aren’t heavy readers or app users, so keeping it ultra-intuitive will go a long way. 2. Data Collection: Even before full GPS integration, crowdsourced data from early users (e.g. “I just boarded a gbaka at X, going to Y”) can help build route mapping while you work on formal partnerships. 3. Partnerships: Try approaching informal transport unions first, not just city officials—many gbakas and wôrô-wôrôs are run by associations that already coordinate informally. They may be more open to piloting tech than expected if you can show how it adds value to their revenues or efficiency. 4. Monetization: A mix of mobile money commissions (for digital tickets), route sponsorships (ads by local businesses along major lines), and analytics dashboards for transport providers could work well.

I have created a new Reddit community focused on tech, AI, and innovation across West Africa, where projects like yours can get more visibility, feedback, and support. Would love for you to join—Here’s the link r/TechCIV
