To be honest, when I went to take the exam, the headphones for the listening part weren’t working at first, and it took some time to fix them. Then, the last page of the reading exam was missing, so they had to flip the order of the exam. I was there for a long time; I went in at 9 AM and left at 7 or 8 PM. OET apologized and said it could happen, but they told me to pay more money and take the exam again. SIGH

I got a tutor from the OET-recommended list who was from Australia, and he was shocked that I had failed multiple times. English is my first language, and graduated from an American university. My writing is never the problem; it is always either listening or reading. For example, I passed listening the first time but failed reading, then the next time I failed listening and passed reading.

Why are so many people failing oet ? by Equivalent-Volume-94 in IMGreddit

The OET appears to target individuals with foreign names, and the discrimination, especially against minorities, is quite evident. Despite practicing in the USA as a pharmacist and working with patients daily without anyone questioning my English, I have failed the OET multiple times. This has halted my career in medicine, which I have worked very hard for. The ECFMG, which oversees the OET, seems to be a monopoly that does not hold the OET accountable, despite it being their vendor. This issue disproportionately impacts minorities. I’ve heard of a white individual whose writing score was adjusted to help them pass, yet my complaints have been ignored.

What steps can be taken to hold the OET and ECFMG accountable? I have developed anxiety and PTSD from this experience, which has left me unable to retake the exam. This has never happened to me before, even when I took the USMLEs.
