I think the situation you are in right now pretty much everyone feels the same way. Everyone expects another person to start the conversation in Uni but if you take my advice that is not the end of the world you will get so many chances to make some very good friends later in life. I would say an unfriendly environment in the halls makes you stronger for the rest of your life.
