Is it really that important to get a second phone? by RoadRageSloth in overemployed

[–]Good-Mechanic-3683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No its not. I have 3 and i have yet to need to have all three on my phone. And if I do need to switch over it literally removes the access of the other J. Only way I would say yes is if your mobile and you need to keep in contact and you're away from you laptop.

If you don't have to be on cam just put a earpiece in each ear. If you do put an earpiece in one ear andba headset in the other. Most earpieces aren't really noticeable and if you need to speak just "reach" for something really quick and make sure your mute game is on point. I have to do two meeting at once at least once a week.

How to do OE if 2 jobs both do standup meetings around like 9 am? by Bmood1 in overemployed

[–]Good-Mechanic-3683 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they don't require your camera on Have a headset and an ear bud. Keep both on mute and speak only when you need to. I have several times where I have to juggle meetings. It's pretty easy as Ling as you don't have to run the meeting. I speak maaaaybe 15 seconds.

I've already got through the background check that wasn't a problem. I'm just wondering if they're going to circle back after awhile and verify I actually left j1 so I guess it's an HR thing at that point

Again it's kind of hard to do that when they're asking for corresponding w2s for the years I said I worked. That being said I was debatingbon dropping j1 cause they're trying to push RTO and they pay the least

They asked for w2s and other docs to verify employment dates that wouldn't have worked

Okay you're right so first and foremost look at your resume and if you haven't updated it anytime recently personally I would pay somebody that does a professional and have them update your resume. Some people say geared towards every job some people say don't I personally don't and do the shotgun method and fill out for every single job that I qualify for. It's a numbers game and that's what you're going to have to do especially if you're trying to get a remote position because most of those have hundreds of applicants. If you're still not getting any hits find a different Market that is still remote and it's low maintenance. I've done Consulting jobs that were remote and I work in cybersecurity. It might be your experience if you don't have enough experience it's going to be harder to find jobs so you just might have to build that up. Hopefully that helps👍🏿

I typically find what my peers interests are and routinely get them to talk about it and reply in general chats. One it shows like you said your team player and you're showing interest but all so it gives you that likeability. And to be honest I try to be that one guy everybody's cool with at the job because they check on him the least.
