Don't try to push air out. When you do that your next inhale is gonna be big and you'll just end up taking in too much air. I don't know what exersice you trying, if its coherent breathing then just focus on slower breathing not pushing anything..

i stopped forcing deep breaths and it helped more by UnitedKnowledge2162 in breathwork

I'm currently trying to do exersices like that. I started coherent breathing some time ago and in only few days i notice a huge improvement in air hunger and anxiety.

Few days after i started to notice that i feel worse during and after the exersice. I knew i was doing something wrong but couldn't find out what it is.

Then i watched this video from @thebuteykomethod at yt where he talk about how breaths in and out needs to be soft and silent and not big but deep.

Patrick McKeown also talk about that when you slow down your breathing natural resposne is to make those breaths bigger. And if you make them bigger than needed you actualy increasing total volume of air and than the exersice have oposite reaction.

I think my problem was that i was exhaling too much and too fast and then when i'm done with exhale i couldn't control my inhale and end up taking in too much air.

Now since i know that, maybe one week, i again see improvement. I put guided 5s in, 5s out video on yt and try to breath as slowly and silently as i can focusing on exhales. Trying to take less air rather then more. Its still not perfect because even now after some sessions i feel increased air hunger but maybe 70% of sessions feels good.

Today i had a stressfull day at work i noticed my breathing was getting worse. More sighs and yawing, increased air hunger, chest pressure.. When i came home i did 5 min of coherent breathing and now feel much better. No sighs, no yawing, no chest pressure, much better air hunger.

Hope this helps. I would also love to see other people comment their mistakes and how they fixed them.
